I must admit, when I was young I did this all the time with my Motocross bike! Sounded amazing, then I had a friend with a Kaw KX250 who also thought it sounded badass, so... he blew his 1month old KX250 up and had about $1500.00 in rebuilding the scattered top and bottom end, including the jug itself.
Moral of the story, we learned a lesson that will save us boat loads of cash... Don't rev engines upon immediate start up.
Engine oil pressure is released from the lifters when they are shut down and takes a bit for them to prime back up upon starting the engine, this is why some have ticking upon initial start up, especially those running thicker oils.
Therefore you are reving an engine that is lacking lubrication, will it blow the engine up immediately, nah probably not, but constantly doing this may lead to it.
Just my .02.
But man I am sure it sounds friggen amazing! lol

words of wisdom there. Theres a reason that oil temp flashes even once the coolant is warmed up. Until the oil is at operating temp it's not a good idea to see high rpms. Good thing amg over built the oiling system on the 156/9
