Brake Pads

So I called Mercedes and asked if I could have the part number for the brake pads for my car and the guy flat out told me no... So I was wondering if there are a difference in brake pads between a regular and p31 c63, since mine is p31. I want to make sure in going to get the correct part, so does anyone know the part # , I'd appreciate it. I got a quote from JM Motorsports here in SoCal for 350 to have everything done. I gave him my vin # and that's how he found it.

Thanks guys!

My guess is your brake pads shouldn't be different from the non performance package pads.

I actually found 2 part numbers for fronts:
005 420 89 20 ==> that one is probably for the BS
004 420 89 20

1 part number for rears:
005 420 25 20

And that price of 380 for all corners is a very good price. Front pads only are listing around 200$ online!!

I too called my local MB dealership looking for a part number and they refused to give it. I guess they think that they are 'protecting' their business by not helping people shop for the best price be it the stealership, online, or from Louie hanging on the corner at 8th & Burnside. So, for their failure to provide the customer service that I was looking for I made darn sure to make my purchase elsewhere.

I recently did my brakes on all four corners. Pads and rotors. I just discussed this at length in another thread but I cannot find the link. From parts.com I found MB OE front pads non PP for $202.50.

The (or their) part number is: 0054203320

Get porterfield rs4 pads. They are better than stock. No dust or noise. Pads are the same, p31 and non. Measure rotors with a caliper to see where you're at for min thickness.

^^ Agreed. Even though I first bought OE pads at first I couldn't resist gettiing R4S's for the front. Great on the street, fabulous when approaching turn 7 at 117 mph.

I agree with going for the R4S pads. I just put them on my car and still have not wiped the wheels down during the week. No need to because there's no dust. They are very quiet and have great stopping power for street applications

I paid $400 shipped for mine and yes they are good for daily driving. You won't really feel the difference from OEM until you heat them up and do some spirited driving

Got my front brake pads changed for 350 at a local shop. I got the part number from the dealership as well for front and rear brakes, and rotors if anyone needs it.

front pads are the same for p31 or non pp: 005-420-33-20
rear pads are 006-420-78-20 for all c63s

p30 uses 004-420-89-20 in the front

If you are looking for part numbers I like rmeuropean - very nice interface. I have not found anything for mercs like bmw has with realoem.com

Since Port rs4 have less dust means it will last much longer. My Clk55 has Hawk ceramics pads and have little dust. Still on original rotors with ceramic pads and has 75% pad left. Even after 50k miles on them.

Would you guys trust an Indy shop to do this? Or can I take RS4s to the stealer ship and have them do it?

super easy replacing pads and rotors. you could even do it yourself. certainly no need for a stealer to do it.

I would trust an indi shop as long as it's reputable

I used an indie shop that specialized in Euro/German cars for the pads and rotors. Then had a trusted mobile mechanic come out and do the fronts with the R4S's and the stainless steel brake lines on all four as well.
