So I'm on the hunt... (newb content)
So, I've been lurking on here awhile and I figure I might as well "reveal" myself (not to be confused with "exposing" oneself). When I started my journey I was comparing the C63 to the M3(I know, big surprise), S4 and XFR. The XFR got dumped first because of concerns about reliability/quality. Then came the S4, it's just too common in this area. An that left me with the popular C63 vs. M3 danceoff... C63 came out on top because I just not a fan of the high revving M3 powerband. Along the way, I came across some interesting "themes" about the C63.
"OMG! It's soo expensive to maintain!" Well, most of the work I can do myself, and the required service costs to maintain the warranty didn't seem out of the norm.
"OMG! HEADBOLT issue" I've done me research on this and realize it's not a normal occurance. In addition, I'm going for a 2011/2012 model so I may not even encounter an "affected" model. Plus, I'll be going the CPO/extended warranty route.
"OMG! It sucks gas like crazy!" MPG doesn't seem out of the norm for cars in the category and level of performance.
"OMG! You'll burn thru tires!" I imagine this is largely due to individual driving style. Unless the tires are cambered in a way that they only use up a small inner portion of the tire.
So, did I miss any maniacal rants about the C63?

The Wavetrac differentials are a quick solution to tire wear in the rear as well as a camber kit if you lower the vehicle significantly!

So I'm coming across some "interesting" specimens so far.

The first one appeared to be a good opportunity. But upon further inspection, it looks like they were swapping out tires OFTEN. Who burns thru four tires in 1,300 miles? And then another two @ 3,700 miles? Three more @ 7,300 and 4 more @ the 10,500 mile mark. Anyhow, it just seems to me that this car was driven HARD. Am I wrong in thinking this?
I've also come across a few cars w/ less than 20,000 miles, 2011/2012's that have had three owners and have been flagged as "fleet/rental" cars. Should I be concerned about this? Normally cars like this would have been given out to corporate employees as company cars... Or, they could have been abused in some AMG driving academy.

I work for a dealership and see "carfax" reports all the time. The "fleet/rental" term is used for cars that where leased through a company. So someone that owns their own business could of purchased the car and put it in the company name. They also could of been leased for a high end executive to drive. Most of the time these cars aren't driven very long and are maintained well.
hope that helps
