Hi all,


Question for those with the 507 Package: For those that purchased the Lighting Package, do you have the headlamp washing system as well? What we (Dealer SA, Head Foreman and I) found out today is that my 507 doesn't have a headlamp washing system. However, the doors for the nozzles are in the bumper but, surprise, there's nothing there!


The 507 Dealer Ordering Guide states that the system comes with the lighting package:


319pkg – Lighting Package
C63 Edition 507: $1,290


600 – Headlamp Washing System
608 – Adaptive Highbeam Assist
615 – Bi-Xenon Head Lamps w/ Active Curve Illumination


Anyone else with the Lighting Package not get the nozzles? Let me know.

^^^ I believe the Headlamp Washing System is not included on US spec cars. I believe this feature is only available for non-U.S. spec cars.

I also ordered the lighting pkg, but I'm not expecting to see the above feature.

yes I have then here in Canada...they are activated every 5th use of the windshield washer automatically....

Interesting. As BenDiem says, I think this option is not on US-based cars. Just like disabling Highbeam Active Assist. I posted up a thread on that one as well...same situation: US Based cars cannot disable.


Oh well...at least we got the 507!

I was always curious about those, since I can never see if it goes or not when I'm driving. I haven't seen any moisture or signs that the headlamps were ever sprayed though. I was always surprised that they don't let you disable the High beam Assist. I understand having it here in Germany, since the only time I drove under 30 mph is in the small towns, but being from the country in the states, I will be driving under 30 and want high beams to watch for critters. Think MB got that one bassackwards if you ask me.

I think Canada get the lighting package standard. Nozzles are there.

Hey George!! How are things?? You are right, the package is standard in Canada and the wash system is activated after evry fifth windshield washing episode.

I too have wondered that, but never posted about it. But when I first took delivery of my 507, I pulled back the headlamp washer covers and discovered that there were no spray nozzles.

I have the lighting package, as did my 2010, but my 2010 had the washing system and my 507 doesn't. It doesn't make sense.

I have a US spec car with lighting package, but honestly never checked to see if the headlamp washer nozzles were functional or not....however, I can def tell you that active highbeam assist can be turned on/off (through the gui menu)....

just checked mine as I was curious, because the sales guy told me I have them...but low and behold, I didn't find any nozzles when I pulled the doors back . Any other Canadian 507s out there that can confirm this?

Thanks for the replies. It looks like all US-based 507s didn't get the feature. The dealer is investigating with MB. Also, the product/order manager has got a few VMs into MBUsa to find out the situation.


Jordan - very interesting with your 2010 vs. 2014! My wife's colleague that has a C300 actually has the system. So, seems a bit strange the C63 would not have it. Only thing I can think of for not having the system is possible weight savings? Who knows!


Anyone in Canada that have the system - what's the weight of your car? Mine is 3826 Lbs.

Many oddities with the US based 507s! But, as I said, at least we got the option in the US! Back in my Audi days, Audi AG was notorious for not bringing the RS models to the States...major PITA!

hey Chris, mine is a 2013 c63 coupe. I'll take a pic for you tomorrow..very possible MB updated the software for the 2014's or just the 507's...to tell you the truth I never even use the non adaptive high-beams as they work extremely well, but I do remember seeing the option in the GUI at some point when I first got the car.

To follow-up this thread, I got a call from a MBUSA rep today (I called last week to find out the situation with the washers). The rep confirmed to me that the 2014 C-Class vehicles DO NOT receive headlamp washers. Also, my sales guy went in and built a C63 with the 319 package and line item 600 was not on the build!


The question begs to be asked: why would MB decide to eliminate the system? I sure hope this is not one of those "you have an entry-level vehicle so you don't get the system!" situations....I'll be calling the rep back tomorrow.

My guess would be "cost reduction", squeezing/optimizing a few more profit dollars, but let us know what the official answer is

Anyways I've seen similar things happen on other vehicles I owned over the years, certain features disappear over the production life of the car. Typically most people won't notice and/or care enough to let this influence their car buying decision so they get away with it (unless there is a class action lawsuit -- I've been part of one as well with one of my former vehicles where certain Bluetooth functionality was promised/advertised but not available - which got me a free new Bluetooth module).
