Getting my steering wheel re-done
I recently decided to re-do my OEM P30 steering wheel since the term "Lipstick on a pig" was coming to mind when I would see my wheel.
The Alcantara was getting worn (being an 09 car) and the leather portion of the wheel was spray dyed before to repair a few tiny scuffs.
I searched around since I'm very picky and **** about my car and what I do.
I found a local gentleman (Tino) was is very professional and serious. I met up with him and after seeing his work on BMW, Audi, and Lamborghini's I decided to do the job. Tino suggested I re-do the wheel in CF and Alcatara. After seeing a few jobs he's done and taking the time to have his CF fabricator (John) call me and send me some pics of his work as well (he's very popular with the Lamborghini and GTR crowd). I went forward. Needless to say as of now I am very happy with the work ( I wish is was faster) but I guess with this type of work it takes time. I did stress I want PERFECT not 99% but PERFECT and I am very picky. Tino and John have both kept in contact with me and have kept me up to date.
Here's the wheel when I took it off

Here's the wheel in its current stage

Another shot

Wheel is getting finished up (needs some sanding and will be clear coated) and I will also have my shift knob re-done in black alcantara/CF
hope you enjoy

I know Matt offers the same product (w/o core exchange) for reasonable price.

The wheel will be buffed with a light cut and ready for the Alcantara. Then she's on my car. In thinking getting a clear 3m film on the CF to avoid any scuffs.. Any ideas? And please any opinions on the smoked edges.
Thanks for viewing

As for the 3M film that is an interesting idea. Why not? I never thought about it
Unless you are wearing driving gloves all the time. After a while it gets really dirty and looks faded and old. I scrubbed it as well and still didn't take out all of the dirt.
I would stick with Leather / Carbon for longevity.

Now it's time for the Alcantara

Hers a few shots of it in the Miami sunshine
I'm very satisfied with the carbon work and the light smoke on the edges. Hope you enjoy. It's almost done

The backside will have a bit of Alcantara as well
