2015 S Class Coupe - Official Awesome Pics

Straying very little from the concept car it displayed in Frankfurt last fall, the two look almost identical. The rear end, side profile and front fascia seem more like an evolution on what the company displayed than the typical toned-down vehicles that often follow concept previews. In fact, the wheels seem like the biggest change from concept to reality.
It measures an overall 198 inches, or 8.5 shorter than the sedan. The wheelbase is also 9.4 inches shorter than the normal four-door model. The roof is almost three inches lower as well.
The cabin gets minor changes to the dashboard and the same touchpad Mercedes announced for the S-Class sedan in Detroit last month makes its way into the two-door variant. “Magic Sky Control” – the company’s auto-darkening glass roof – is part of the standard equipment list. The two-spoke steering wheel disappears in favor of a sportier-looking unit, but the cabin shares most of its design with its more statesmanly siblings.
You can expect to find all the same safety systems including autonomous braking and collision mitigation systems as in the other S-Class models. But the coupe also gets a revised version of Mercedes’ “Magic Body Control” that can tilt the car toward the inside of a curve to keep the car feeling level to its occupants.
A limited run of “Edition 1″ models will be offered initially, and Mercedes turned to Swarovsky for help in setting the cars apart. To someone buying one of those cars, it means both headlights including 47 crystals from the well-known brand.
Other highlights include two optional sound systems from Burmester, available 20-inch wheels and heated arm rests.
The model unveiled today is an S550 Coupe, which means it harbors a turbocharged 4.7-liter V8 making 449 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. That power is sent to all four wheels through a seven-speed automatic transmission in all models.
Mercedes plans to show the car in Switzerland in March before it begins arriving at U.S. dealerships later this fall.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG

Tail lights look like the VW CC
Front looks like a Volvo
Rear bumper and exhaust/diffuser look like the hunch back of Notre Dame
Wheels are like a 2006 BMW 6 Series
I think MB had its run from 2007-2014 and it ended this year. Time to move onto the Jaguar F Type R Coupe, Audi S8, Toyota Supra and Lexus ISF
I like it better than the old CL, it is intended to replace.
