HRE Wheels - Custom Finish Pics
Hope all works out for you & cant wait to see them mounted.
In terms of safety, Its the first time I have done this to a wheel. I have modified wheels in the past without issue (shaving back pads to lower offsets / re-barreling etc) all the work was done by the same shop, so I have trust in the work.
Think about it this way - a solid weld will hold up to immense load is most cases. The welds have to be pretty bad in order for them to fall apart. Only time will tell I guess.
Lastly - Im going with a stud conversion, I already ordered the studs and lug nuts! Felt it was a better option instead of re-using regular bolts. I had to order a new set either way as these wheels are cone seated.
But the smallest (in width) I can find was 15 MM. That would definitely not work with our cars. Would bring my effective offset upfront to 15! and in the rear to 29!
If you see these wheels in person, you cannot even tell they are re-drilled. Looks completely stock.
Thanks to my friends @ Tires23 for the always speedy and meticulous work. They truly are an enthusiast shop. Good bunch of guys!
The wheel looks great, and of course mounted up with no issue. Tires spun free no issue with rubbing on the inner side of the suspension. The big question is how flush are they with the fender. Its pretty damn close!
The real test will be after I put in the Coil overs. It will be a close call. But I definitely think its doable!
Either way here are 2 quick shots.

As for the color, u should have went gunmetal.. I find ur color choice blends too much with ur silver car & silver calipers. Might look better once u install all 4.
Don't really like gunmetal too much, it looks like its covered in brake dust all the time. Dont like black wheels either. So here we are

I hope to have in suspension installed in April some time.
At stock height this setup will work without issue. I can confirm that.
Its extremely flush, I may have to roll the front fenders just a bit to get a little extra clearance. Lets see. Right now I'm amazed how well they look / fit on the front.
I was looking at the Rears, they actually are decently concaved. I will get the rear installed this weekend. Take a few pics.
Im out in Scarbs on Fridays to see clients, In April after I install the Coilovers we can do a photoshoot one Friday.
I still have my new Spoiler / Diffuser to install as well. Hoping to get it all done soon.
Later I changed the spacer and switched to ET33 and was much better but still had occasional rubbing issues on larger dips.
So I wouldn't the lower the car to the max if you don't want to damage the fenders.
I would love to see the rear fitment. When are you trying the rears on?
Just to give you an idea - this is how ET43 9.5x19 with 255/30/19 looks like on H&R Springs

If I lower the car too much It will be extremely tight to the front fenders.
Matt have you considered rolling your front fenders to gain a bit more clearance? I'm thinking about doing it front and rear just to make sure.

And LOL about the fender rolling it self
I know exactly what you mean. If I can get a camber plate, maybe I can ad just a little bit of negative camber to the front, maybe a degree or 2.
