Do you guys think that AMG will ever decide to enter the hypercar market? If so, car's like this and the upcoming SSC Tuatara (1,350 or more HP) and the upcoming revised/upgraded Hennessey Venom GT2 (1,500 HP) and long awaited Saleen bi-turbo hypercar are what the competition will be. Also don't forget Bugatti has said they will return with a much faster car after the last Veyron's are finished being built. If the current 5.5 liter bi-turbo V-8 from AMG can be modified with upgraded turbo's to produce 900 HP, then what about an AMG 7.3 liter bi-turbo V-12? 1,400 or 1,500 HP shouldn't be a problem, and with an upgraded DCT transmission and a suitably upgraded form of 4-Matic to put the power down, and some weight saving measures to get in under 3,000 lbs., it would be a deadly competitor in this end of the market segment. Below is a link to the article and pics of the new Koenigsegg, which should hit 0 to 248 MPH in at the most 20 seconds with a top speed of somewhere up over 273 MPH. Wonder if this car or some of the others coming in the next couple years will be the first factory street legal production cars to do the 1/4 mile in the 8's on street tires?

As much as i wish amg/benz would step up. I dont forsee this happening. They are in more demand than supply right now in sales. The hyper car market typically isn't very profitable - they couldnt even sell all of the slr's they planned to sell. Getting down to 3000lbs... doubtful sls and slr weigh in at about 3500lbs. Benz is too much into safety and noise insulation. I have no doubt and would love to see them do this but it's just a dream. I do however feel like they are do for another 1/2million dollar car. Most clients in the hyper car market wouldnt want a merc anyways. The hennessey venom is kind of a joke. How many have they built/sold? 10? it really doesn't pass emissions, they dont even make their own body. Doubt its been crash tested. Yea it performs but comparing it to a Koeni, Pagani or Bugatti etc... they are in no way on the same level. Not to mention a really bad reputation in the past with the viper clients in the 90's. not sure if ownership changed but stealing is a crime.

Koenigsegg makes some pretty epic cars, but to me, this just looks like an Agera with more Aero bits and pieces and Koenigsegg just dialed up the boost. The interior looks pretty spartan compared to the likes of the Pagani Huayra. I'm sure the One will go on to break many records, but I just wish they would do something new and update the car in general.

ill always love seeing stig drive off the track and wreck one, saying it needs a wing. You'd think they would've realized that before bringing the car to the show? As much as I love pagani i think all the zonda special editions are silly. there's literally like 30. The zonda R is pretty much unbeatable in my book, maybe not top-speed but driving experience has to be about as close to f1 territory as you can get in a reliable turn key package that's not an open wheeled car. so many downforces.

I think the P1 will beat out a zonda.

this koenigsegg one:1 should be able to smoke the p1 and a zonda r but hopefully someone will put up some races of them on youtube for all to see.
