I have 40% front. 5 driver and passenger window. Then two layers of 5% ontop of one another on rear windshield and small back windows. I drive a coupe.

I wouldnt do the front anything under 35 honestly. I had 5% all around on my old sedan and visibility is very very bad.

Here in Va you get pulled over for 35% so i just went with 5% because you might as well if youre worried about tickets. Visibility with anything under 20% is greatly reduced, so if your vision isnt too great, i wouldnt go under that. Ceramic tints increase visibility greatly, but they dont really go lower than 18% unless you layer up.

Both percentages reduce the same amount of heat.
5% no one can see you in daylight. 15% your silhouette shows.

But depending on your interior, 15% with black interior will basically look like 5% lol. Sometimes i must put my windows down when i turn and cant see the curb much so thats kind of annoying for some, i got used to it as all of my cars have been tinted under 15%.

Also, here in VA you can get a medical waiver which allows you 20% legally all around. So check into that in your state.

5% will be very dark, hard to see out at night time. I have 50% on all 4 doors, and 40% on the rear.

Thanks for feedback guys! I forget tint laws are different by each state, and some states may be a lot more strict with them. I have heard that in California having dark tint results in being constantly pulled over. Although here in south florida the tint laws seem very lenient.

I don't supposed you could post some pictures of your front windshield? I've been contemplating doing mine for a while and thought that 50% might be good. I haven't seen many cars with it though so it'd be really helpful.

Heres an idea! Looks much darker due to the -3% back windshield and dark side windows. But i can honestly say it looks darker with perfect visibility in the front! 35% CERAMIC is clear also.

From the inside. Dont mind the vicious pup lol

I wouldn't go under 15% because at night when you are reversing, it's nearly impossible to see anything behind you especially with the auto-dimming mirrors.

Yeah, CA sucks with all their traffic laws; no tints on front and front driver/passenger windows.

@Maroon63 - no disrespect, but why the faux-spindle grill black area? Are you trying for a Lexus-look?

I had 15% on my G37 before moving into my C63. I would NEVER go darker than 15%. Even at night with 15, I would struggle in dark areas to see and would often have to move around in my seat to confirm the existence of the object I thought I saw out of my dark passenger window. During the day however, 15% is perfect and honestly almost looks legal.
