Interesting.
Can someone explain how this works? Does the pulley provide a more efficient means of running the other belt-driven components i.e. reduces accessory load losses? Does this mod work irrespective of any other mods? Thx.

I'm assuming it's an under drive pulley. Basically it spins the accessories slower so there's less parasitic drag on the engine thus freeing up some ponies.
I didn't think a tune would be necessary to see the power gains though

I'm also curious to see some data on the weight vs stock as well as diameter.

Some really good questions in here, like to see the answers.
I don't know that a re-tune would be necessary as your not changing any of the air / fuel / mapping etc... this literally will just reduce the amount of drag on the engine by lessoning the weight and changing up the diameter of the pulley.
These are speculations, so hopefully EC chimes in soon.

OK I will say it.
$1100 for a pulley... I usually don't say anything about prices but that's just crazy. I've owned a lot of cars and usually this is one of the cheapest performance mods costing under $250.

Welcome to the world of European tuner cars. Ain't nothing cheap to be had with these.

We have all been brainwashed to think that since the price point of the German car is grossly inflated, that it is ok for the aftermarket parts to be as well.
Now having said that, take a look at the cost of this car and the parts overseas (if you can get them)...

I'm not saying I agree or disagree with the price point of this unit as I was not on the committee that spent hours engineering it and or meeting with the manufacturer countless times to perfect it, but I will say as long as this ^ mentality is being pushed around the forums, it will never change.

This is another great point, having said that, the BMW scene is loaded with consumers and their parts still come with a heavy price point...

Eurocharged any further development in this?
This is such a simple mod but 1100 dollars is ridiculous. MB tax or not, this thing shouldn't be that much.
