Those of us that have bought Japanese wheels direct from Japan know that pain. You can wait 4-6 months on those in some cases.
these F14s are a nice design and GLWS.

I don't mind waiting when you are purchasing a custom product. Most choose fairly safe offsets or what's recommended by the authorized dealer. if i'm paying for a custom set, I want the most aggressive setup I can get and as concave as I can get them. I don't see anything woring with that.

I live 30 miles or so from the HRE warehouse. I can walk in there, give them my specs and it will still take, at a minimum, 6 weeks or so. Yes they are more expensive but the process is similar since they have to start it from scratch and no i'm not comparing HREs to Forgestars, merely the production process from start to finish.

Still though, you are getting a custom job done, PCD, width, size, offset, etc. It's not a made wheel at that point regardless of the price point, they still have to manufacture it when they get your order and based on your specific specs. Sure they may have pre-made sets in a certain face, size and offset (the safe ones I mentioned) but if you are giving them specifics, It will take several weeks at a minimum to fabricate depending how many orders are ahead of yours.

Most people stick with safe offsets recommended by vendors as you said because they don't want to rub, so I think these wheels for sale are good because you can have them within a week.
When you are ordering the Volk wheels you know they take 3-4 months and they inform you.
For Forgestars, they say it only takes 6-8 weeks to get the wheels to you. In reality its closer to 14-16 weeks.
There are many other threads, but heres an example.

Any time you are promised a timeline and it is not met, yes that would irk anyone. i'm aware of the forgestar delays. i've never owned a set and not sure if I will. Currently one of my friends ordered a set for his Z06 but he went with the safe offsets and he is now in week 4 of waiting while he was told 6 if I remember right.
Hey i'm all about buying wheels used, no shame there. It does cut the wait time significantly and you save $$ in the process. To the OP, sorry for taking this OT, GLWS.
