Windshield Washer Fluid Leak?
Okay, so I am not sure if this is truly a problem or something that our cars just automatically have. There are no error signs or messages being thrown up on the computer so I just don't know.
The other day I was topping up my washer fluid and I filled it all the way to the top, only to find out that it was seriously leaking from underneath the car. It leaked for a little while then it stopped. I don't get low washer fluid signs or anything like that either.
So that got me thinking perhaps they don't want you filling it right to the top so they have a cut off or something that drains the fluid above a certain lever, but of course I am not certain.
Can anyone help me out here? Is there something wrong or is this completely normal for this car?
Thanks!

There's probably a crack on the side of your reservoir tank. After my car had major frontal repair due to collisions with two deers, I found out the washer fluid was low after the repair was completed. I topped it off as usual. The following morning, the fluid was all over the garage floor with the top of the fluid seen where it was before at the bottom of the tank. I took it to two different dealerships and was told to bring the car back to the repair shop because the washer fluid can be topped up to the edge of the lid. The tank was subsequently replaced with a new one.
My car is a recent model W212 E-Class but I'm pretty sure the washer fluid tank is constructed the same across all MB's. The collision likely was the cause of the cracked tank in mine. It would be strange for a tank to leak for no reason since it's constructed of plastic and there is nothing to rust.

I am the second owner of this vehicle and before I purchased it, I was told that the vehicle was in a front end collision 2 months after it was on the road. Perhaps the crack or damage is from that collision that is a few years old already?
Since it doesn't throw any errors or cause issues and simply stores a little less fluid than normal, the previous never bothered. I am thinking I should get it looked at even if it's not doing anything. Do you know if this would be covered under warranty? I have full warranty still and even a 2 year extended warranty.

Where is yours leaking because I had the same issue...still do.
Mine leaks out and ends up creating a puddle near the front diver's side wheel

It's just strange that I get no errors or messages on the computer. So that makes me think that it doesn't ever get dropped to a level that's super low. Maybe I will call my dealership and talk to them, I would think something like this would be covered under warranty?

If I were you, I would just take it to the dealership and they might just replace it under warranty, especially when you still have it.

Interesting to see how so many people have this issue yet no one really talks about it. In fact, I wasn't going to either until I figured why not look into it. I don't get any error signs or the fluid isn't super low all the time which is why it isn't a hassle for me otherwise I'd be more proactive about having it corrected. I will maybe give the dealership a call and see what they say I guess.

I had the washer tank replaced under warranty on our GLK. There is no reason for it to give an error message. I filled it up and noticed the leaked fluid on the garage floor. The dealer was familiar with the problem. In the GLK there is a circuit that goes to the engine to heat up the washer fluid and the tank leaked where that circuit entered the tank and only leaked down to that level so there was still lots of fluid in the tank. Maybe the C63 is similar and if so the dealer should be able to fix it under warranty for you.

Why is MB not initiating a recall on this item for safety reasons?? Not having washer fluid available in poor road conditions is not a good thing! I have a GLK recently purchased but not on warranty with the same issue - pours out when topping it up but no indicator light on.

Had my windshield washer tank leaked/broke as well and blue fluid all over the ground. Had it replaced under warranty. I have no idea how it happened...

I haven't even looked at it since I posted the thread cause I haven't had to fill the washer fluid. But if it's warranty work I should get it done since I have warranty still. I am just worried the dealer would charge for 'diagnose' or whatever else though.

The dealer should look after it for you. They know it is an issue when you fill the washer to the top and the top portion leaks out. Just get it fixed under warranty. It will likely take two trips. One to register the complaint and another to do the repair after they order parts in.

Figured I'd updated this. Had the car in at the dealer yesterday to have the washer fluid issue looked at. The service rep advised me that it may not be covered under warranty as it depends on the kind of damage. Told her not to bother fixing it if it isn't. Never got a call until the shuttle was ready to pick me up and it was free. They didn't tell me exactly what they did but apparently they had to seal something. I am assuming a crack or something somewhere.
I was having another issue of my left side marker intermittently going on and off randomly and throwing CEL. Sometimes it would be nothing for days and then it would happen. Apparently they changed the bulb and the socket there and charged me $50 for parts and labour. That I didn't care about but the problem is that I had clear side marker with chrome bulbs, now I have one of those and one clear side marker with regular amber bulb which is way brighter than the other side. Most likely going to order another set on ebay or just just change the other chrome bulb with amber one as well.
