Some mod questions

Hi guys,

Wanted to say thank you to everyone who has been giving me feedback on my other threads, appreciate all the knowledge and expertise here. So im actually doing a whole bunch of mods in these coming week and was hoping you guys could help me answer a few really quick questions

1. I am getting the HRE FF 01's on the car in 19's and currently my car has a 1.5 inch drop on it. With the way it stands, it definitely looks like it will rub so would it be ideal to just raise it up a half inch to accomodate or should i roll the fenders?

2. Does anyone know what the color code is for the red caliper color that comes on the p31 package? I know red is common but with the setup i am doing it will be the cleanest color

3. I am upgrading the pads on the car and heard a lot of good things about porterfield pads, but which is a good model to go with that wont end up becoming super squeaky down the road? Does everyone use the R4-S?

4. Is it worth getting 2 piece rotors vs 1 piece if i mostly use the car for DD'ing and the occasional mountain driving?

Appreciate any feedback, thank you!

I do not think the HRE FF01 come in custom fitment.

From what I remember they come in 19x9.5 +45. Which you should be able to lower without rubbing as long as you don't have 275 rubber.

For the calipers just contact ACG in San Diego, they have a caliper exhange program so you will have little or no down time, they can match the red and factory AMG lettering perfectly. They are vendors on this site and there are several threads regarding their caliper paint program. They are good guys, they will do you right.

+1. Rubber is key - we recommend 255 for the rears...

Then 19x9.5 +45 w/ 255/30/19 ... OP you should be ok with your 1.5 drop w/o rubbing.

oh boo yes i did go wider in the rear. When i was getting the rims, EAS did tell me what HREs recommendation was (/ 255/30/19)

But the setup i will be running is the following

Front
245/35/19

Rear
275/30/19

Reason i went larger is because on such small tires and with the mods on the car, its really hard to put all that power down.

So if i was to raise the car up half an inch say and roll the fenders, would i encounter any rubbing issues?

Thank you everyone for the feedback really appreciate the help

Yes you will need to raise your coilovers up if you want to accommodate 275/30 in the rear without rubbing. I would not recommend rolling fenders. If you want to go wider just do a body conversion.
As for the calipers Tal @ACG has your answer.
I never experienced porterfield pads so I cannot help you on that.
If you plan on tracking your car in the future upgrading your rotors to 2pcs will save you weight and give you better braking performance. If you only daily drive it these are not required. Your OEM 1pcs will suffice.

Getting grippier rubber will help you with that, even in 255/265. Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R, Toyos R888, Nitto NT05R, etc.

OP I am on HRE FF01 But with custom offsets for the C63.

19 x 9.5 rear ET44 Offset = 255/30/19 Advan Sports
19 x 8.5 front ET 30 Offset = 225/35/19 Advan Sports

I am lowered on H&R Coil Overs, I do not rub anywhere except the battery side rear every once in a while.

On a 275 wide tire, you will probably rub. Even with fender rolling. It wont be too bad, but expect it to rub a bit with 275 wide tire. I say do a 265 in the rear. You should be okay with the offsets you have.
