Did you have the Bi-Xenon option and upgrade the bulbs or just put HID bulbs in the standard light housing?

Can you post pictures of the light beam as it shines on a wall? I am curious to see the light pattern.

Yea, putting HID Bulbs in a standard light housing causes a lot of glare to on coming traffic, no matter how you aim them. I went through all of this with a Dodge truck I used to own. You can retrofit them with Bi-Xenon projector beams and they look pretty darn good. The only difference is you will not have auto leveling.

Secondary cats and resonator were removed. Yes, I will make a revving clip. It does not have a CEL, work was done by Imus at MC Customs in Miami.

This. I do not have the bi-xenon package, so the HIDs were added to the standard light housing. Will take a photo of it against the wall tonight!

So which HID kit did you go with? DDM? Morimoto? Other? I'm trying to find a good reliable kit. The DDM kit I got has a bad ballast.

Hey Glennhl,

Yes DDM is total crap, stay away from them.

The best place to get your HID Retrofit kit is Retro-Solutions. After a little trial and error with other companies I finally found them and they have reliable equipment and great customer service.

Just send them an email and tell them what vehicle you have and what you want to do. They will guide you in the right direction

Thanks for the recommendation. I was leaning towards TRS Morimotos, but I will take a look at Retro-solutions. I'll get my bad ballasts replaced by DDM and use them for spares. At least all the lights work and I can use them as spares. The weird thing is we put on a set of DDM's on my son's Civic SI and they have been working great. Live and learn!

One last clip. It sounds similar to how the car sounded stock, just louder. I feel like it did not take away from the AMG sound at all.

So the computer did not throw any error codes then? Does it void your warranty? You removed the resonator and the secondary cats? Where did you get the straight pipes from? I just can't make up my damn mind as to what I want to do with it...there's just so much damn varying info. out there. All I want is it to be a little louder and not obnoxious. Still keep the AMG sound at the same time without any rasp and so on.

The computer did not throw a CEL. I am not sure if it voids warranty or not, I do not get my car serviced at the dealership and if something requires the dealership to get involved my mechanic is good friends with them so they do not ask any questions.

I got everything down in Miami at MC Customs.

I agree 100% about it not being "too loud". With the removal of the secondary cats and resonator I feel that it in fact does keep the AMG sound, just running to it's full potential.

You should try seeing if you can get a local C63 with exhaust mods to meet up with you so you can hear it in real life, that is the best way to decide IMO.

So if i am understanding this correctly you removed the secondary cats and got a x pipe there and removed the resonator and got a straight pipe there? Is that correct?
