Tuned C63 vs FBO E92 M3 6MT
Had some nice friendly races with a friends full bolt on E92 M3 6MT tonight against my 2009 P30 C63 tuned.
His mods are:
-Full exhaust X-pipe with High Flow Cats
-Drop in filter
-Pulley
-Evolve R tune
My mods:
-Eurocharged V5 tune
-Secondary cat delete
Race 1 10-110mph
Neither of us had traction on first gear since it was a cold night out. Once my tires gripped I instantly started walking away, by the time I hit 110mph, I was a good 1-2 cars away and pulling.
Race 2 40-90mph
Short burst, I started in 2nd gear & my friend disabled his traction control which seemed to help him. I started walking away again but only managed to pull about 1 car length on him
Race 3 30-120mph
Started in 2nd gear again & I ended up beating him by one & a half cars.
Note all the races were done in S mode with the traction control disabled. My friend has been driving & racing manuals for 10+ years so he is not a bad driver. I was expecting a full bolt on M3 to be dead even with me but I was quite surprised to be pulling & walking him, makes me curious to see how bad we'll beat a stock M3 by
That is all, just thought I share the results!

Nice runs!
But really it is expected, I'm surprised he didn't catch up a bit in the higher rev range.
Either way, I remember a member posting a vid on here with a FBO C63 keeping up just fine with a blown M3.
The M156 dominates the S65 in the M3. Plain and simple.

Thanks I was surprised because I found a video of a E92 M3 with the exact mods edging out a tuned only C63, but it was a DCT instead of a manual so I was expecting him to be at least even with me.
A friend with a stock C63 was behind us for the few runs, he may have been recording. I'll post it up if he uploads it.
By the way, I think I just fell in love with my car all over again & I'm looking for more mods. Do pulleys for our cars really go for $1200?? Like the one from Eurocharged. Seeing how my friend paid only around 300 bucks for his Dinan pulley & I see that Eurocharged also offers a pulley set for the E92 M3 for only $250

I am not surprised it all.
Remember, M3's have one key variable in their favor...weight. I believe they are some 300 or so LBS lighter vs. an equally equipped C63.
Good think the merc has a TQ advantage, otherwise, all being equal, results may be the other way.

They are quick FBO and tuned. A couple of years I raced a friends FBO DCT M3 and he walked me at the very top every time. I had only a Eurocharged V4 tune, which many will say is conservative, but I would have still figured the overall HP/TQ edge would have been more than enough to handle him.
