Any thoughts on carbon body part manufactures. Selecting a vendor...

Folks, I am new to the site and also new to MB. I just purchased a 2014 C63 AMG Edition 507 and I really am in love with the car.

I have done some searching but have only found a couple posts that seem to address what I am asking here but here is the question.

I would like to put a carbon front lip, big fin diffuser and bigger carbon fiber spoiler on the rear of my car. I have been looking at Mode Carbon, they have all three pieces exactly as I want. I also see that JL Motoring has what look to be the same style in all three pieces. The only notable difference being about a 30% price difference between the two.

My question is: Is that really the main difference, price, or is there a big difference in quality? I will gladly pay for quality/fitment/durability/finish. Does anyone have any feedback where they have seen or evaluated products from both? In searching the forums here it appears that Mode Carbon has a good presence here which is a big deal to me as well.

Any experiences to share?

Thanks,
-Adam

Mode Carbon - What else can I say, these guys make an absolutely perfect product. Can't say enough about how everything fits and looks. You will not be unhappy if you choose to do business with them.

Thanks folks, I really appreciate the endorsements for the Mode products. It appears that my initial thoughts were pretty much reflective of the group consensus. Mode Carbon has been very responsive to email and I was fairly sure they were the better group to deal with. The product photos look amazing as well which is a requirement for me LOL.

Looks like a Luftstrom front lip, Luftstrom rear diffuser and boot lid spoiler are going to be coming my way asap :-)

Thanks for the speedy help,
-Adam

Got my JL big fin last week or so, pretty perfect fit. Only thing is, you'll have to bend the metal tabs in using small hands and/or a very small skinny tool that is bendable, and can reach the tabs from underneath the car. I'm quite happy with my JL motoring product, quality is good, and cheaper. Use the stock brackets with it as well, as the metal tabs will be bent into them.

Definitely go with mode carbon. I have their luftstrom lip and rear diffuser. Best quality for the price IMO. I have a vorsteiner front lip and side skirts being shipped here this week, so we'll see how those are. The only reason I'm swapping out my mode carbon front lip is because I accidentally cracked it and decided to try something different this time. There's still a chance I'll end up going back to the Mode lip though

So I did go ahead and order the Luftstrom front lip and rear diffuser as well as the boot lid spoiler from Mode Carbon. I'm just sitting here waiting for shipment :-) The rear diffuser was not in stock so it will be a couple more weeks.

This leaves me time to ask a couple questions:

1- Is there a protective film or something I should put on the front lip? I would imagine the carbon fiber can crack and splinter if debris or rocks ping into it. Is there a way to make it last? Providing I don't curb it LOL

2- What is the best way to prep the surface of the boot lid to ensure the new adhesive attaches well? Obviously I don't want to damage the paint so is there a cleaner that is preferred?

Thanks again!
-Adam
