Mode Carbon Product Showcase - Featured Item: C63 Edition 507/Black Series Hood Vents
Mode Carbon C63 Edition 507/Black Series Hood Vents
We are proud to present our carbon fibre Hood Vents, with fitment for the C63 Edition 507 & Black Series factory hoods. Add this touch of detail to emphasize the functionality and aggression of the menacing front fascia. Once you catch the first glimpse of the carbon fiber weave popping off the paint in the light, you will know that this is the way things were always meant to be. This detail may have been overlooked by the factory, but not on our watch.
This item is a straight swap for the OEM pieces, with perfect fitment for the factory hood. The Hood Vents do not affect functionality or water drainage. Metal mesh included.
More photos of our Project 507 Build very soon! Stay tuned
2008 CLK63 Black Series 2012 C63 Black Series 2014 SLS Black Series
I just recieved mine late last week. I will be installing them later today hopefully. I am very happy with the overall quality, they are beautiful. The carbon weave, color and finish is an exact match with all the exterior factory carbon on my aero package equiped C63 BS. Very high quality product and worth every penny. I will post up some photos as soon as they are installed.
amazing, any details to show the reverse side? i want to check how the vent looks like from the other side, i am afraid rain/water comes to the engine bay -which is no good, and i am not sure if it could be compatible to my Gruppem RAW CF intake..(much less clearance i believe)

Our carbon fiber Hood Vents are a direct replacement for the OEM plastic vent inserts. The draining mechanism on the factory hood is attached to the hood itself, which remains untouched when installing the carbon fiber vents. Thus, draining ability of the OEM hood and the hood's clearance are not affected in the slightest.
Anybody install these themselves and have some tips to offer up?
If not, anyone in Southern California know of a good shop that will do a proper/clean install?
I did the install myself on my car. You can see pics I posted above of the finished product. You'll need fishing line or strong plastic wire of some sort, needle nose pliers, adhesive remover, and 3M tape.
When removing the hood liner and the piece that routes the water from the vents, be careful not to drop the plastic torque pins into the engine. You'll lose them forever. Lol. I had to buy a few at Mercedes Benz in Temecula for $5 each.
The mode carbon vents are a very exact fit, so it's tricky to place them just right. Since they're thinner than the OEM plastic vents, you'll need to stack several layers of 3M tape to compensate.
