michelin pilot sport A/S 3
anyone try these babies out? i've been running bridgestone RE11's for the past few years (which is to say i've been through many sets, lol), and the 200 treadwear rating is starting to become annoying. the A/S 3's have a 500 treadwear rating, which is even higher than the beloved PSS' 300 rating. they also have a correspondingly longer warranty than the PSS. i know these are all season tires, but quite frankly, i don't track the car and rarely hit over 100 MPH as i dont do much highway driving. any thoughts?

I've driven em at several Michelin press events. They're great tires for all seasons. I ripped around a mustang at the Michelin proving grounds on a really hot day and was impressed that it didn't melt haha.

I've only had mine on for ~1000 relatively sedate kms, but they feel good & stick well in the Melbourne cold winter days.
They are a little noisy, but not too bad.

I like them but they don't wear as well as you would expect and pricey
I'm running Conti DWS in the winter now, 540 TWI, but still don't last as long as I would like, but a good deal

I am running the AS3 on my daily driver E55. Generally very impressed with them. Performance level is just a hair below a dedicated summer tire. As stated they can be a bit noisy. Coarse concrete freeways are loud, and they make a kind of "sizzle" noise driving along surface streets. (Seriously, it sounds like bacon frying.)
I had Michelin PSS before and like them better most of the time. They are stickier and quieter. But they also render the car undriveable on the occasional wintery day here, hence the choice of all season tires.

and thanks for the replies, guys. I'd like to give these a whirl next time around. bumping up that wear rating from my current 200 to 500. I know these ratings aren't absolutes, but they gotta wear better than my RE11's.

I've had them on my car for a year now. Love them!!!
So here's my story:
Had the stock Conti's on the car, they ran out in about 8000 miles and they wore really quickly. I was never thrilled with those tires. I went in to my tire guy to get the Michelin PSS tires and he offered me either the PSS or the AS/3 for the same price. I looked at reviews online, etc etc and after evaluating my needs (I mean how often are we pushing these cars to the limit on the road anyway?) and the fact that the tires scored almost identical except the PSS came out ahead in summer driving but the AS/3 outshined it in the wet and tied it in all other categories made me put them on. Especially the higher tread wear is what sold me.
Anyway, its been a year now and I was next to my tire shop so I decided to stop in and get his opinion on how they are wearing. He took a look at them told me I am fine and I am good for at least another 6000-7000 miles at the rate I was going. I have already put on 7000 miles so that puts me in the +- range of 13,000-14,000 miles!!! Also, grip is phenomenal still and ride is comfortable.
Here are some reviews about it that are basically saying this tire is absolutely fantastic:

Even if I end up getting 10K out of them I am happy, but I think at the least I will hit the 11-12k mark and I don't baby my car at all. That being said, I don't do burnouts and drift everyday but I do have fun with the car and my traction control light does come on at least 2-3 times a day (on maybe 5-6 miles of driving a day, haha)
It's a good tire and I highly recommend at the very least giving it a shot. The stock Conti's were crap and I can't say I've ever tried the PSS to compare but overall its a great tire.
