Old thread but what do you guys think about Mr. Dinan statements about people wasting money for ECU tunes without any hardware changes? Would that mean that all those folks that posted HP gains with a program are lying? The reason i ask is because I just purchased V5 myself!

On other cars where the engine might already be at full performance (not de-tuned), Mr. Dinan is correct.

The N/A engine in the C63s come de-tuned from the factory. The tune simply opens up the (almost) full potential of the 6.2L N/A engine. That's why see the gains in HP.

my guess is he may be meaning more of the tuners that target the fords and chevys and the small Japanese import motors, i checked into performance parts for the wifes mustang gt and there are tons of companies saying install this software and get 30hp!

I did the V5 tune today @ Eurocharged toronto. Folks there are amazing. The car amazed me as well. It pulls 418HP to the wheel bone stock! V5 makes a big difference not only power but better shifting. Im very happy with the result
Here's an update after I installed the K&N air filter and retuned to optimize air flow. Car gains 1.4HP to the wheel, makes 443.7HP now. One thing I have to consider is the weather is much hotter this time than my first dyno day.

Stock WHP 427.60
Gain 17.25 HP to 444.85

No no. Those 349kw and 604nm is crank power. 349,5 x 1,36 = 475,32hp on crank and newtonmeter is 604,7 in crank. If i use that 9%
475,32 : 1,09 = 436whp
I dont know is that torque calculates same way but if.
604,7nm : 1,09 = 554,77nm in wheels.

604,7nm = 446 lb ft in crank
446 lb ft : 1,09 = 409,17 lb ft in wheels.

And this dyno calculates that 9% power loose crank to wheels. This same dyno and more than 10 C63 and once that gives power loose 10% all other times 9%

Strange..about a month ago posted my bone stock dyno results on my "let the mods begin pulling the trigger" thread done on a dyno dynamics (same as EC I believe). Got 527 bhp and 449 WHP (stock). Since then I've installed V5, agency headers/exhaust, row airboxes and K&N's. I'm getting my car done again same shop in a few weeks to see my gains from added Mod's. Wonder if his machine was out a bit or just really good conditions to dyno Even the mech. was blown away how much power my lil 507 was putting out.
