How do you know it won't be faster than the M3/4 in a straight line?

I'm just going off both manufacturers quoted performance times.

BMW claim M3/M4 0-100 at 4.1 seconds

MB claim C63 0-100 at 4.1 seconds (4.0 for C63S)

Speculation about underquoting could be directed at both BMW and MB.

This is how a manual W205 interior looks like. They only offer manual W205's in Europe though.

The "artificial" sound produced by construction of the exhaust is the same thing technology that is currently used on the CLA45. Mercedes-Benz claims that they are able to simulate the sound of a bigger engine this way.

That's not an AMG though. Mercedes-Benz made manual transmissions available on W203 C240s but the C320s and C32 and C55 AMGs for that generation all had automatic transmissions.

Wow, it might not be an AMG but it sure looks awesome with the gear shifter in the middle. Love it!!

That has always been something I miss on the C63, a proper set of gears to row. Sad to hear they even went a step farther from that and put the gear selector on the steering column. At least in the w204 you can bump the stick if you need to shift and the paddles are not readily accessible. Also sad to hear true manual mode is gone and car will auto shift to save fuel.

2013 Mercedes C63 AMG SEDAN
I just noticed that myself... Column shift WTF

2015 AMG C63 with no center console shifter, but a column shifter.... saw this quote somewhere on here... "this is not my grandfathers Chevy

“The best knows no alternative” is Mercedes-Benz C-Class marketing tagline, WELL YOU NEED TO FIND A ALTERNATIVE TO THE NEW CHEAP LOOKING GAUGE CLUSTER AND DESIGN A BETTER WAY TO DISPLAY THE COMMAND CENTER SCREEN

Mercedes blew it with the new 2015 C63... Cheap looking SLK/CLA/GT AMG gauge cluster and the CLA COMMAND CENTER AFTER THOUGHT... ONE MAN ONE ENGINE... I guess one man one Interior designer.

2015 C63 AMG new design 7 speed MCT NEW/CLASSIC TECHNICAL Column Shifter... LOL
2014 CLA

2015 AMG C63
CAN YOU SEE A DIFFERENCE?

The only difference is that you will pay at least $80k with a few options to feel and look like you are driving a $27-$35k CLA 250...... This is just deplorable..

I like they have three-stage dampen control suspension. A softer ride for daily driving is really not a bad idea.

Here's the thing though.. The m3 has 1 less liter to tune. So, once tunes are available the C63 is going to be able to pull away from the m3. It wont demolish an m3, but mod for mod a c63 is going to win in a straight race.

As for it only being .1 seconds faster to 100 than a 507... That is essentially a stock w205 beating a tuned w204. From the factory alone that is pretty impressive considering the engine is 2/3's the size.

A lot of hate towards the new C63 here but it is still too soon to tell with this car. No shifter is whatever, you don't use it anyway other than to put the car in P/R/N/D. My biggest complaint is that the back looks like that suzuki kasachi or whatever.

You know better than that. Those numbers mean next to nothing in real world testing.

The AMG will be faster than the M
It weighs 5% more
But has 15% more torque
10% more HP
33% more displacement, ~same Cr and boost
The m is not under-rated, it does NOT have 500/500 T/P
It weighs 400 lbs less than the current AMG and is no faster
The m is 2 seconds slower to 150 mph than the current c63
We will know shortly how much faster the AMG is
The track will be closer with a small edge to the M....maybe
The last versions were within seconds at the 'Ring despite a 500+ lb weight advantage and more tire
The e63 is faster than the M in a 3 minute lap
The vette and z28 smoke it by 10 sec lol

Not challenging your numbers, but traction and gearing (and shift speeds) are also factors.

I use mine in manual mode constantly, I almost never use the paddles. I guess I miss my manual gear stick... (plus the shifter responds faster/better than the paddles)

We can assume gearing is optimized for each car
Both mfgs have good engineers and it is a simple task with the resources they have at their disposal

Shift speed is a small factor in a straightline run
What matters more is the programming of the shift, throttle control, torque mngmnt, traction cntl interface, etc
Time isn't as critical as power transition and loss of momentum

I think people will be pleasantly surprised at the amg's performance
Time will tell

That is purely perception, the paddles and shifter actuate the same components to shift the gears, they are essentially in parallel. sure their might be a few hundredths of a microsecond difference based on electrical atoms moving through the wire, but not enough for you to notice

This is probably more of a setting you can customize like the Audi's, where you can enable sports exhaust, but soft suspension, stiff steering, etc. Tweak what you want on and off vs Sports+, Comfort, etc.

Will be faster then M3/4 regardless of MCT or not but will most likely be slower on the track (who knows)
RWD was/is the fun factor of the W204 c63
AWD go for an audi retarded fast in a straight line

Seeing the wagon looks like there will be CCB as an option.
Actually it will be like the E63. Wagon will only come as S model and sedan in base or S.
Probably options will be similar like carbon fiber exterior package, CF interior, Recaro seats ...
