Headers + akrapovic axleback

Does anyone here have headers (specifically agency power) with akrapovic exhaust? I have scoured YouTube for clips, but as usual YouTube sound quality isn't exactly great.

I am hoping it is still fairly loud, with a more refined/exotic note instead of rasp city! I would also hope the car still backfires.

We have installed akrapovic on many BMW's at the shop and it sounded top notch, but those were turbo engines.

Thanks all!

carlsson makes the best sounding exhaust for these cars. carlsson is produced by supersprint. our oem is produced by eisenmann.

I used MBH headers, 3 inch straight pipes with no cross over. Random Tech 3" metallic cats and a supersprint axelback..... sounds beautiful. Akra doesn't use a cross over either but the problem is that it's just ugly on this car.

You think so? I love the square titanium tips. Already ordered the exhaust, moreso curious about the sound a bit more.

Mine will be completely catless, AP headers down to AP straight midpipes, OEM AMG resonator, then Akrapovic slip on after that. We don't have environmental crap here in Alberta, so completely catless is where it's at!

Hey Bud,

I will have My headers installed on Thursday. My system will be as follows:

Renntech Intakes + AP Headers + AP Mid pipes +Random Tech 200 Cell Cats + Resonator delete + Eisenmann Race Exhaust.

The Headers are Ceramic coated and my mid pipes are being high temp powder coated as we speak.

FYI - Our stock exhausts sound nothing like the aftermarket Eisenmann setup. For those who tell you the stockers sound good with a header setup is fooling them selves. The sound is obnoxious and not controlled what so ever.

I heard the Akra in person (Just the slip ons) no headers. It has a much deeper tone compared to the stock cans. Much like the Eisenmann. I am confident once you pair it with the headers, the outcome will be great.

You will be hard pressed to find a member with this exact setup. Most stick with the OEM catback. IMHO the OEM catback is way too raspy with headers. Its pretty obnoxious.

I will post a few videos this weekend.

a car
We've installed a ton of MBH headers with X-Pipes and a Akrapovic Rear sections with our in-house connecting pipes.

Awesome sound, good grunt but not obnoxious. No drone, and easily one of the nicest combinations.

Here's a clip of that, not the best but hopefully give you an idea.

I've also done a few of the Agency power headers with OEM mufflers and every single person has complained and had me take them off or switch the rear section out to quiet them down.

Here are a few videos of my car (no headers) but everything else is on.

if you dont mind can you pm me how much it is costing you for the setup with install?

The Renntech Intakes make a bit of power. Deleting your secondary Cats will make a bit as well.

All said and done its about 4-5K CDN installed for the headers / mid pipes and the coating work.

From 3W.

I work for a shop that does tuning, so I run our own Inhouse tune. 540 crank hp currently, should be about 590chp after headers.

hahaha just busting ***** man.
I wish you had too, or at least if they had not been me, someone on here that I was cool with. I am still salty if you couldn't tell.

I can not believe your car dyno'd as well as it did with just the V5 and intakes... Man if and when I do dyno, I hope I got a freak as well. Once you get the rest of your mod on, you have to be right around 480-490....
Happy B Day bro!

Not everyone can justify paying that much for Akrapovic, however it's a work of art, high quality, great performance, and sound.

Put the headers in today... I love the unholy sound they make!

I'm now kind of scared/leery to put the akrapovic on... I don't want to cut my exhaust only to find it's much more quiet and less beastly.

Can anyone chime in?

ya it'll probably quiet it down. I've got mbh longtubes, high flow cats and akra slip ons. It's much quieter than that unless you are getting on it. I've posted a handful of videos on here so you can get an idea of the sound, minus the blower whine. make no mistake it does get loud when your all in.

Is it still much louder then stock? Does it still backfire?

I love how nasty it is right now with just headers, but it is a bit loud.

I had my headers installed last week!

God damn, its monstrous, I love it with the Eisenmann catback, its quiet for normal cruising but ridiculous when you're on it.

I didn't have a chance to dyno it, I will go back this week to see what she is putting down.

Some things I was concerned about:
Interior rattling, its almost synonymous with exhaust mods. But im pleased to confirm no rattles from the header install.

Fumes - I smell a bit of fumes after shutdown or if the windows are down. Its not horrendous, but expect it when installing headers.

Overall sound - Its like Zeus is powering the car himself. Its pretty damn mean.

Videos / Pics will be up in a few days after the Dyno. Goal - 500WHP.

Haha. That video was awesome. I know you have the AP mids. Do they keep the stock resonator?
