In am wondering if there is sufficient interest in setting up a track day at Mid Ohio. We would need 5 cars minimum. Depending on prior track training the program would be lead/follow with instructor and maybe open track time. Schedule and cost to be determined, likely spring.

Respond if interested, and subscribe this thread for updates.

Mid Ohio Race Course is between Columbus and Cleveland. Feel free to check with friends. This does not have to be C63 only, as long as the other cars can roughly keep up.

Well, I am glad you asked! Frankly, after getting ZERO responses when first posted, I gave up on this forum and started to organize that track day separately.

Today I have a list of 20 potentially interested participants (3 Porsches, 2 GTRs, 5 AMGs, a Maserati, even one out of only 4 TVR Griffiths in the US, etc.). The local AMG dealership will also come and sponsor something, maybe pay for the food.

I now also have a date: March 28, 2015. The idea is we drive there the night before, stay at a hotel, have a couple drinks, swap stories etc. and hit the track in the morning. Program there is 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. We will have a blend of activities for folks of various experience levels, we will break up into groups. I have folks who never saw a track, and I have one Ferrari F1 certified international manager who recently moved here, and everything in between. All details are open for input - I have a call with the track tomorrow to talk about some of the options. The day can accommodate between 12 and 24 participants.

It is now commitment time: In order to keep the track reservation, I need to give them a down payment of 300$ per participant (3,600$ for the minimum of 12) in the next couple of weeks. The full day will cost 600$ per participant.

I expect several of the currently listed interested drivers not to be able to make it - no date is perfect, so there definitely is space.

PM me, if interested, so I can let you know how you can get the down payment to me. it would be great if we could make this also an event with AMGs in force!

This could be a great fun day!!

Folks,

so far it is only Zibby and me from MBWorld.

Unfortunately it will not work to 'keep an eye on this and decide on short notice'. If I do not get the minimum number of 12 participants to keep the track booked, the event may not go ahead. So, if you are interested to join, you need to commit to ensure it will happen.

Trust me, end March you will all be dying to get out and drive your car 'as if you stole it!' :-)

Looking forward to having you along!!
Strange how these things go. I now have 7 down payments paid and 3 that are in the mail, with 14 participants who say they are definitely in. So it looks like this will really happen.

Funnily, most of the people who actually really move towards doing this are not those who originally expressed interest. In total I had 34 folks nibble. One of the more interesting particiants be MHP: They will bring a 500hp CLA45! And yes, their downpayment is already in. :-)

Way more 'involved' to get this going than I anticipated.......

Update
All,

for your information, the track day on March 28, 2015 at Mid-Ohio is on! I have 15 cars signed up.

The maximum number of participants is 24, so there are still free slots for anybody interested. Recall, this is a private track day (HPDE Format, i.e. with instructors available), with no more than 24 cars in total on the track and all day booked for us (9 - 5). So lots of lap time available in spring, when we will all be dying to get out there!

PM me if you want to sign up.

The track day on March 28 is now full. I still take a few sign-ups for the waitlist in case of cancellations.

All,

I just had a cancellation for MARCH 28 and can take a couple more participants if there is interest. Spring has sprung and the snow is almost completely gone. It is time to get out there and drive our cars the way they are meant to!

Send me a message if you want more info.

Ugh. Same here - Lime Rock today cancelled due to massive snow in the runoff areas. SUCKS. Better luck next time...

What a freak winter/spring. There was absolutely nothing in the forecast for Mid-Ohio. Should have been a cold sunny, dry day. Instead we had 2-3 inches of snow, numerous pile-ups and a huge mess - just 25 miles around the track and nowhere else. Really?! Ugh......

Sorry for the folks who drove there from all over - Ambit came the furthest (Detroit Area), most came from Cincinnati.

On the bright side: Great company and camaraderie, nice dinner and improvised war-room beerfest in the hotel lobby. :-)

Working on getting a new date!! Btw: Below our snow plow :-)
