Thanks. I figured it was something like that and I looked at the instrument cluster but nothing changed that I could notice.
On my previous car (IS 350) it was noticeable even during the day when you messed with it.

You are all incorrect.
After taking an in-depth look and studying this particular piece, it seems that it was inserted in a way so that it is at a 90 degree angle compared to the floor. The knob twists in a circular motion to either the east or the west and seems to be a piece made out of a solid piece of ABS plastic that was injection molded specifically for this one task.
Given all these hard facts and numbers and scientific method that I applied to this problem, I think it's highly unlikely that you should touch this at all because the engineers who designed it are by far smarter than you and you shouldn't mess with it.
Anything you say after this is useless because what I am saying is hard facts, not opinion at all, and I will continue to derail this thread and provide more facts, numbers and big words to prove that I am superior and that you are wrong no matter what.
At the end here I will say do whatever you want and that I didn't mean any offense or wasn't attacking you despite what I wrote above.
