High idle cold start with Eurocharge V5
Anyone else experience this after switching to the V5 tune from Eurocharge? Been running their V3 and V4 tunes before with no issues but as soon as I flashed to the V5 tune about a month and a half ago, my cold start has been abnormally high (about 1,600 RPM compared to 1,100 RPM stock). I ran the V5 tune for a couple of weeks hoping maybe the ECU will adapt or sort itself out but no dice. Flashed back to V4 tune and voila, the cold start idle goes back to normal at 1,100 RPM.
I've emailed EC but it's been over a week and haven't heard back so I'm hoping perhaps other forum members have had this happen as well and came to a solution.

Pretty normal for mine, it settles down after a few seconds? No big deal for me, I have a Jetta that goes to 2500 on cold start, sounds like someone is giving it gas but seconds later it is at normal idle.

No, by cold start, I mean when the ECU decides to elevate the RPM to 1,000 - 1,100 to warm up the catalytic convertor faster. For me, this usually occurs at the first start of the day as I park in a heated garage at home and at work. Ever since flashing to the V5 tune though, the cold start is at 1,600 RPM which is awfully strange and sounds just weird.

If switching from V4 to V5, and then back to V4 and it eliminates your problems, there is obviously something up with V5 Tune on your car.
While i dont have V5 tune, i think the OP is looking for guys who have the V5 tune to comment on if after loading the V5 does this happen to them.
I know exactly what you mean though. 1600 is abnormally high for our cars.
Mine is about 1100rpm on first start of the day.

Running the v5. Oil temp was 71 degrees. The revs shot up like normal and then settled to 1100 for maybe 15 seconds and then back down to normal idle.

I don't have high rpms with my V5. It was freezing outside this morning, but my engine was still in the 60ies when I started. I don't think I even have seen 1100 rpm yet.

I have the V5 tune, upgraded from V4 about 6 months ago. Did a cold start today outside air temperature was 67F degrees, initial idle was 1100 rpm, then settled down to 700 rpm after a few minutes. I have ROW boxes and Hi-flow Airfilters for Weistec.

I checked mine today . 1,100 rpm until the engine oil hit 82 then it went back down. I did notice with my old tune it was more raspy now just idles high then goes back to normal

I have Eurocharged V5 also and I do believe it idles up to 1600 for a few seconds on cold starts of less than 5c temperature. I will double check tomorrow.

Well, not faulty but something ain't right with my V5 file if under all the SAME conditions, the cold start idle is at 1,600 rpm and only 1,100 when flashed to stock or any of the previous files from EC. In terms of drivability and the more aggressive downshifts in M mode, the V5 file delivers as promised with no issues. But, by all accounts, a 1,600 rpm cold start idle just isn't the norm.
Please let me know what you find tomorrow, thanks.

Mine idles high too on cold start. My C63 used to sound like godzilla waking up from a nap before Eurocharged tune. Now it sounds like a regular old iguana.
I am sure they purposefully just put the idle set-point higher. The reason for it I don't know. If they tell you that they will reflash for free with a lower cold-start idle set-point I'd like to get it done too. I miss it, but my neighbors probably don't.
