Is there anyway we can have our AMG's start in a mode other than C? I always drive in M so I was just curious if there was a way to go ahead and have the car start up in M.

I researched this before and what I found was basically no, one thing I read was mentioning when they come to the U.S. and emissions are done its under c mode
My friend with a bmw said his is the same always defaults to comfort

Even pre-facelift cars will go back to C. I have had 2010 and 2011 and if you leave it in S or M when you shut down, it will be in C when you start it up again.

My '09 will stay in S all the time, every startup....I drive in M 99% of the time and when I shut it off and restart it is in S mode.

Same here for my '14. But I prefer to drive in C until the car is warm anyway. And I don't mind turning a knob 2 or 3 clicks. Hell, I turn lotsa knobs when I'm driving...

I wonder if this is something that a tuner could mess around with and fix. I'll report back with findings.... when I get around to asking a tuner.

The reason for this is strictly for fuel consumption numbers. It defaults to C so they can claim higher MPG and save gas guzzler taxes etc...
I had this question when I had my 12 C350 coupe and that was the answer I got. For the FL cars, it's basically how they can claim the "Blue Efficiency" or whatever it was called.
