Road salt and corrosion
I may be **** about this and most of you will likely think I'm nuts....
When I purchased the car I vowed not to be driving in winter conditions. Mostly because if I left my home in snowy conditions I'd need to drag it back up my 1/2 mile driveway with my tractor to get back into the garage.
We did get slick roads eariler this week and the road crews spread salt. Today and days ahead its nice and sunny and dry with no snow or ice.
I reallty WANT to be driving it but have no real reason to get it out. I'm off for 10 days and want to enjoy driving it instead of my 3/4 ton diesel truck.
I know the C model is not very old and there is not much data to show what and where it'll start rusting.
If I do take it out what else , other than just spraying down the undercarrage should I do before the final winter storage.
Thank you !

Drive it
Modern cars have great corrosion protection
Believe it or not it actually snows in Germany!
And the car has seat, mirror and cabin heaters!
And they spec snow tires for it
Just rinse the wheelwells at a car wash ocassionally
Use the correct tires for you conditions and service duty
You'll be fine

Yeah i have no problems at all. What i do to prep my car for the winter is in October i usually get a polish and wax done, clean my car thoroughly and clean the undercarriage through a touchless car wash. Take it to my local undercoating guy and get it sprayed. The power is too much for winter but its fun when the traction is off.

I drive my 63 on studded tires in Calgary winters just fine. Mind you it's also almost fully wrapped in Xpel Ultimate. Still looks brand new.
Hell, I love it when I fly by an Audi on the highway who is struggling to go 80 and not slide off the road.

As tough as it is I'm with you here. I bought my car last week. I have a company issued vehicle and a 4x4 truck. Needless to say I look for ANY opportunity to drive it. With that being said. If there is any type of snowy/salty conditions I'll drive my truck. The car is a nice weather/weekend car and keeping it that way will save the car for a very very Long time.

People who put their cars for the winter make me laugh. This started with the BMW crowd when I had an M3 and now here.
I bought the car to drive it. I will drive it all year. But I will also take care of it and never keep it salty. Great care goes a long way.
