Not sure whats up with the site but I can't edit or quote properly so sorry for the extra post. as far as your evo. Not sure who made them, but turbos make more heat and the thickness of the 304 may not have been sufficient. did your manifolds crack at the weld or in the actual steel itself? Pics would be helpful if you have them. Goes to show that whoever makes the exhaust is just as important a role as what materials are used I suppose.

i currently have straight pipes @ 2nd cats and resonator. if i got the headers with the off road pipe, it would replace my 2nd cats leavings my resonator as straight pipes. anyone know if this will be too obnoxious?

The closest thing I have heard to that setup would DodgerC63's car. He essentially had straight pipes through to the exhaust. His car didn't have the xpipe, and it was loud as hell. I think there are sound clips of that setup on youtube.

Can you put your resonator back on?

Yes I still have my resonator. Also I would definitely need a re-tune right? I currently have a velos tune. Do headers make a big difference on stock tune? Or is that not a feasible option?

I'd love a pm for pricing on the group buy if still in effect…
Shipping to V2C 6T8 if possible, or I have a US address in WA if that's easier..

You should definitely get a retune if you want to optimize the power for the headers. You can call velos up for a headers tune. I was told it's safe to drive around without a header tune, I just won't won't be making as much power as other people who have an optimized tune.

And you'll probably end up with a CEL due to the increase airflow + catless system.

Yo bruddah mikeyyyallday, you in Oahu?? I can only imagine the wails of AR headers bouncing around Waikiki, or screaming through Waimanalo!

Jeff, thanks for posting the pic. That is the first picture I see where the O2 sensors are clearly visible (all 4). Helpful. My install date is Dec. 18 :-)

Just hope the headers will be here before that.

Ok finally had time late last night to look under the car. It looks like I have MHP v1 or Gen 1 headers based on the pics on their site. They are 4 into 1 LTs with a slip fit collector and straight mids. So I'm in on this GB. I'm not a fan of slip ons and I want an X. Please pm with info or should I just call Nick directly since I've been an AR customer for years anyway. Thanks!

I would like a PM about the group pricing as well, but I have a feeling this is not anywhere near the price that they "should" be for just headers.

Nick got back to me super quick. nick@americanracingheaders.com I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by the price. Its for the headers and X pipe with all clamps and 02 extensions included.

These are great headers you won't be dissapointed. I've been running them for a couple years now.

You need a tune to run these please don't install them and run the car, it will run dangerously lean.

lol headers will be sure to drown out all the live island music playing along the strip

re: tune/headers sequence, I asked the same question to EC. They sent me a new v5 file optimized for headers, and said I could install before headers with no problem.

I'll do my install Thursday and will do dyno runs prior (without header tune) and afterwards with headers and header tune.

Just talked to Jeff - he installed his today and loves it! He will post details shortly.

First of all, I'd like to thank Mike at MHP (Modern Horsepower) for taking care of me and dealing with my questions. They followed up really quick (usually within 8 hours).. infact mike called me up because their email was not functioning properly. That being said, here are few pictures of my catless MHP / ARH headers. And yes I dealt with MHP directly. I wasnt too sure at first due to few negative posts about the company on this site, but, I took the risk and was very happy about them taking their time to respond quick and were patient. Headers shipped to canada within 2 weeks..quite the fast shipper.

They look great Thanks for posting the pics.

Man I would love to add a set of these to my 507 but I have heard that, even with the stock mufflers, that it gets incredibly loud.

I also would not want to deal with any gas smell after removal of the stock cats.

Guess you have to sacrifice somethings to get more horsepower

You can get sport cats. Keep the mufflers and resonator. Apparently loud under full acceleration but normal driving is not too bad.

P.s. I see you're a tech at A.A. they hiring young pilots? Haha

the_indian_kid,

Yea I need to find someone in the Dallas area that has headers and high flow cats with the stock exhaust so I can hear what it sounds like

Actually I think American Airlines has some openings available for pilots right now: A.A. Careers

Nice! Looking forward to feedback from anyone who installed these. How was ease of installation, how does it pull, how does it sound (volume and quality)? Do you still get pops on decel with the x-pipe?

Also, for anyone who previously had gen 1 headers, curious how the sound compares with these gen 2?

I have been busy all weekend and haven't had time to do the write-up of my install, but I took lots of pictures and will be posting them up shortly.

I only have a regular tune on my car right now, the car pulls and spins it's tires with ease. I purchased my LT headers with the 200 cell high flow cats and xpipe. The great news is that I haven't thrown any CEL lights from the O2 sensors, so I'll be fine passing my OBDI emissions testing. It sounds fantastic and not obnoxious at all. The decel pops and throttle blip is still there and a lot more pronounced now.

GEN1 didn't come with a built in xpipe, Gen 2 has the xpipe and it does wonders in smoothing out the rasp.
