Im looking to get a new car by this summer, and as the type of person i am i want something loud, mean, and monstrous. Looking at camaros, mustangs, audis, bmws, nothing seemed to fit more-so than the c63. With the prices of 08-09 models dropping into the low 20k range i think the dream of a car like this is somewhat closer than i thought. My questions for owners, as I'm coming up on graduating high-school, is this smart? Would it just be better to be that practical guy and go with the accord? I realize the gas is here is killer i have a job and will be covering a portion of the car and gas. Biggest question how long will these cars last? If i get one it will be at about 80-90k miles and i don't know how much these cars go far mile wise, its not worth it if the car is going to fall apart when it hits 100.
For those thinking, he's too young, immature, inexperienced. I plan on taking it to the track frequently, taking lessons, and considering my love my cars i WILL treat it like my baby. The hardest part of the matter is my dad has a hate for many european motors especially mercedes he had an s-class that never left the shop, so hows the reliability?
Any help is awesome! As a car lover just thinking about owning one excites me, whenever watching videos of the car roar just blows me away, i don't think any other car really sounds like this one.
Please answer my questions leave the maturity required to me and my family!
Also, i live in Texas so snow is not a problem!
Thanks!

In the mean time, buy some car experiences to tide you over. I can't afford an F458, but I'm driving one next week for a couple of laps.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
You can beat the hell out of them on the weekends and still drive them to school/work during the week with no worries. They get much better fuel economy also.
Keep in mind, any car that gets tracked often will eventually break something, especially if you get deep into it like I did. (one of my combos in my 93 cobra laid down 534hp/536 tq at the wheels) this much power required 3rd gear replacements on multiple occasions since the stock 5 speed was only rated for 330 tq at the crank.
The 05-up stangs are great cars that can be had at a good price, respond well to mild mods and still get 25 mpg minimum on the hwy.
Oh yeah, 03-04 cobras are pretty much bulletproof up to about 700-800 hp
You're going to have to maintain a 60K vehicle. SOMEONE will have to pay your insurance. Gas mileage is poor/low. And I am sure there are many other reasons this is not your best move.
For a 17 year old, this is a disaster.
Mustang is a good choice. 03-04 cobras are fast, reliable, and still look nice.
And can i just get an answer to how many miles do these engines last? I assume not near as long as a f150, honda, toyota?
Most likely longer before a rebuild is required
Service duty has alot to do with it
All highway maybe 500k
All city 150k
Not to mention driving style
Mechanical sympathy is the key
Too many variable for a concrete single number answer
Tires only last 12k if you dont roast them. High mileage vehicle will require more dollars in service.
Buy a used mustang GT or a C5 vette both very fast and cheaper to own!
