No I'm too undecided on what i want. Love the new M4 but not with that exhaust. I wanted to hold out on the w205 C63 but dont want to risk it with the situation I'm in.

I think this question is semi on topic in regards to water getting in and forgive me if this is a stupid question but I saw this thread the other day and today i was standing behind my car and noticed the rubber seal around the rear windscreen at the top goes in about 1/3 on each side only and the middle isn't 'sealed' as such. It didn't look frayed or ripped off and I did try to look at many members photo's in the picture thread but no photos were really that close up of the rear to see a windscreen rubber seal. Summer storm season here.
Oh and merry xmas to everyone by the way and safe travels.

Just a minor point, but I'd insist that they replace the carpet and liner. You can't really dry that stuff properly, in my opinion, and the last thing you want to end up with is residual moisture (which it sounds like you have) as it can lead to mold and corrosion. They should replace the carpet since it got wet. My 2 cents

If you are concerned put a dehumidifier in it over night
Or take a hair dryer or heat gun to it,just be careful
Use towells to press it out
Hose it down with some lysol
It will dry
It has to
It will equalize with ambient dewpoint
No if ands or buts
Take it for a long drive with heat and ac on, fan on with vents directed down
Preferably on a cold dry day
I would not sell the car over that
People spill things in cars all the time, no big deal
You found it quickly, no harm done
Or take a hair dryer or heat gun to it,just be careful

It has to dry out
When your wife cleans the home carpets they are damp, they dry out
Your washrag left in the shower is dry the next day
Water evaporates the rate depending on surface area and ambient dewpoint
People in verts have been caught in the rain with the roof down
They don't scrap the car lol
What is yourczip code?
Look on a weather web site for the temp and dewpoint
On a cold dry day park it in the sun with windows cracked

It will ALWAYS equalize with the amb dewpoint
But leave the windows open when cold and low dewpoint
It will dry out in short order
Otherwise it will just take longer
Replacing the carpets might be a 4 to 5k job for no benefit

Yea i'm going to be out in Pennsylvania where the temp is around 30 degrees and my house is all up in the mountains so I'll just leave the car with all the doors open. Maybe that will do the trick!

^^ I agree with Ing, no need to sweat over wet carpet. I'm pretty sure it's already dry after the dealership used the dehumidifier.
It's not like he broke a bottle of fish sauce in his car. Lol *joke for Asian fellows*

At least 10 deg below the temp
Also warm the car interior up as much as you can on the drive up
before you park it get it HOT on recirc with the ac on defrost mode
Then park it with the windows down or doors open
An hour or 2 should be enough
The air will suck up the moisture like a sponge

Sounds like the consensus is you're good to go. If 4 or 5K for carpets (which is insane/retarded) then I'd pass too. Plus it sounds like no need to worry based off of collective feedback. And good thing is wasn't a case of broken kimchee bottles... :-)

kimchee is delicious, but anything fermented stinks on the carpet lol

I just drove the car a bit and had the heat pretty high and when i pressed down on the back carpets, a little bit of water came out. Wont be able to do what ingenieur suggested until wednesday but I am going to tuesday to check out a 2013 c63 coupe pp. Hopefully they are willing to take my car!

glad i saw this thread never even realized this was an issue, gotta make sure they check this at my next scheduled maintenance (which i may do early to catch things before warranty runs out in feb.)

Carpet dries, and yes it's easy to get it completely dry... just keep the fan on. It takes a few days to get funky, and that becomes a few more days at low temperatures like in the 30's and 40's.

Yea I have to wait until tomorrow but apparently my SA got promoted to MBUSA so I have a new advisor. I'll be speaking with them tomorrow. You would think since I shelled out over 4k for extended warranty they would take better care of me.

That's why I optd out of the extended warranty... overpriced & too many fine prints.
I can't believe they didn't cover this flaws for you as courtesy.. BS!

Just came up to PA and I drove with the heat on full blast for about two hrs and the water started coming up. Parked the car and used a wet/dry vacuum and sucked up about a glass full of water. When i press down hard, little bit of water comes from the tracks of the front seat. So I applied a lot of pressure and sucked up as much water with the vacuum as I could. I have a dehumidifier in there for the rest of the day and at night I will put a fan and hopefully it will dry out completely.
