Nissan Gtr nismo

Go drive both, then decide. Many here wont have great advice. Some may have experience with the gtr and r8, but I'd go to the gtr and r8 forums, they'll know better.
I'd go with the gtr. You're buying a car like that for the performance and I'd just prefer the easy gains out of the gtr you can get rather than have to send the R8 to UGR to get any serious power.

It has what, a CF package? The regular gtr is going to perform just about the same. Even if it is a little worse you'll enjoy a normal gtr enough to at least understand what an advanced version of that car is like which is probably a tune.

best advise you will get.
go sit in them, test drive kick the tires. you likely won't get much useful feedback about these on a mercedes forum.
both are nice car's and i'm sure you would be happy with either one of them just depends on your needs/wants

First would be good luck finding one GTR nismo.
Before pulling the trigger on the BS the GTR was on my list of cars (but no real space in the backseats was a deal breaker). Different type of car, very track oriented, AWD which makes a lot of difference compared to the C63. But it is a fast car!!! You need to tweak the exhaust to enjoy the sound. Stock it is fast and modified as well. The nismo is like the BS of GTRs. Revised tune, transmission, launch control, aero package etc.... It cost more as well.
Do some homework on GTRlife. One notorious member there (MC) has the first one built for the US. He did a 1/8 miles run recently and it was good result for a stock car. There will be some run against a hellcat in the springs....

I really enjoy my R8. Interior is refined and comfortable. Ride is smooth.
You're going to have more storage space with the GTR, if needed
Am I reading this correctly, the Nissan GTR Nismo starts at 149,990 MSRP? Wowza

Here's my 0,02can$ take it for what it's worth.
I have three friends that had GTRs, all three had problems. All pretty serious. 1-engine shutting down while running. Dude was going 100mph when it happened almost died of a heart attack when both power steering and brakes let go. 2- Broken engine (but he was tracking it). 3-Broken tranny, never tracked it. Never abused it. Nissan gave him hell and I'm not sure how it ended but the last I heard it was out of his pocket. None of them kept the car for much more than a year except dude 3 that I don't have the outcome but swore to me that it would be his last GTR...
I have three of my customers that own R8s, all V10, two coupe and one is a convertible. Two of them had V8 first then traded up to the V10. All are in love with their cars and have owned them for a couple years.
Again take it for what it's worth, if it was my money, out of the two, it'd be the R8.

2012 P31 C63 Coupe Trackrat, 2019 GLE63S Coupe Beast
The GTR interior is terrible. The performance tracking toys are fun (accelerometer, etc). Performance-wise it's an absolute beast on the track, and you can go all-out with mods. The looks are either love it or hate it. Only you can decide that.
The R8 V10 is essentially a reskinned Gallardo. You know what you're getting there.
Why even ask the question? Drive them both, then decide what you like. This is a MB forum - your questions would be better off on the applicable car forum don't you think.

My Suggestion is stick with your C63 cause they are awesome haha. But if you were to go with a R8 or GTR id pick the GTR.
It is reliable. Check the GTR life forums for the "high mileage thread" not a single person reported a problem with their gtr even after 80k miles. Not a single issue. My friend has a 2011 GTR with zero problems and its drives great. My brother has a 2014 with zero issues. These are Japanese built cars and they are solid.
Interior terrible? Depends what you compare it to lol. It is about on par with a new Infiniti so I wouldn't say its terrible at all. Its quite nice.
R8 V10 is just a wana-be Lambo IMO. Never liked it.
Also good luck on getting a Nismo. There are only about 200 (i think it could be less even) coming to N/A and im pretty sure most if not all are spoken for.

Like here, c63 is better than the m3.

There's a 2014 GTR track edition here at Pinnacle Nissan in Scottsdale... Was looking at it Monday.
Not quite a NISMO, but upped power rating, and a few other goodies. 119, with 20k instant off.

I went out to a car show with a few friends prior to the season end and while it wasn't a Nismo edition my one friend was in his GTR. Before we even made it to the show he was ready to trade his car for a C63.
According to him: The seats are so much more comfortable. The engine sound stock to stock the C63 wins. The interior is so much more refined in the C63. He was a bit quicker on the highway with an army of mods but i'm sure on a track the C63 wouldn't keep up without a similar layer of modding. After some research last we talked he is waiting for a GT or may go for a Porsche.
To me though it is all about personal preference. I love my car, there are faster, bigger, safer, etc., pretty much any word with er on the end applies. So really just get what you want and drive it like you stole it and you will never get bored.

I can't comment on the GTR as I have zero experience with it. Though you can pick up a Nissmo GTR, I've seen a few for sale and have been offered one by a friend who is a broker. Not hard to get, but you do have to pay a premium.
Now onto the V10 R8. My wife REALLY wanted one, so we went to check out a 2012 auto V10. It was so disappointing, the acceleration was adequate but, the gearbox was garbage. Clunky and outdated. The salesman insisted we try the 2014 as he claimed it is much improved. It was, very slightly and for $185k it was hardly worth it. If you must get an R8, I suggest a 2014.
IMO if you are looking for a fast AWD car, check out the 991 turbo. I have a buddy with a 2014 turbo S and he said its the best car he's ever owned and he's owned most exotics out there.

If I was in the market for an AWD supercar, the 991TTS would be my pick. Incredible tranny, engine, fit and finish. Did you see that video of a 991TTS doing 50 launch controled start in a row? That car is a beast. It will run 10s on street rubber and fuel all day.
For a rwd car, the new Z06 looks hard to beat for about half the price of every other car mentioned so far.
