I've been looking a bit, and I can't seem to find a definite answer... And MB won't let me "test" one.

This style:

Does anyone know if an E-class style 3D tri-star emblem uses the same mounting as the stock C63 hood ornament? I'm a huge fan of the 3D star's, and I've finally decided I will put one on.

I'm assuming I can use the part number off the C250 Luxury (as I believe it comes with one).

Has anyone tried this?

Not sure. But are you going to run a blank grille because I always think it looks goofy with 2 stars on the front.

I actually just came to that realization as well... Perhaps I will need a blank grill.

That picture makes it look like the owner REALLY wants you to know he has a Mercedes. I feel like he might also use that as a pickup line.

You could get an elegance/luxury c-class grill.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/2008-2009-2010-2011-MERCEDES-W204-C300-C350-FRONT-CHROME-HOOD-GRILL-GRILLE-OEM-/271692169762?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3f421d8222&vxp=mtr

I tend to like the hood ornaments on sedans and grill star on coupes. The gill star is sportier so it goes well on the AMG line.

Hood ornament on coupe
Has anyone ever seen this on a modern coupe? I know they quit this style in ‘03. If so how’d it look? (Blank grille & standing star)

I'm 99% sure it will fit. I replaced my C 55's emblem with a flat badge with a 204 part no. and took my C 63's out the other day to clean the dirt build up around the badge and the flat badge looked the same as the one I bought for the C 55.

They fit. I don't think a car looks good with both a Standing Star and a Star in the grill at once looks good, personally.
