Put the car in M mode.
Slammed down the throttle 1st gear, second gear and third gear..

Then slammed the brakes slowing the car down. Did that a few times.

Sorry RB, the forum went into "Database Error" mode for 15 mins and swallowed up my response. Now I need to sign off and get some shut-eye. Use S3 from a full stop. Apply full throttle for 3 secs, off throttle for 2 secs, full again for 3, off for 2 et al. Build up some serious speed, then brake hard while in S3 to force the downshifts and rev-matching. It'll work! It seems like such a natural process to me that perhaps somehow I can't quite articulate it clearly...if we arranged a conversation it'd be cleared up in 90 secs I'm sure.

Awesome! I get it. One last q. Do I keep it in D3/S3 the whole time I'm doing this?

I'll do this later or in the morning.

Yes. To me the whole idea is to force the trans to shift repeatedly in more of a high-performance envelope.

Perfect, thank you.
Can't wait to try it. I'll try it on a freeway/highway as cops are everywhere here.
I reset the TCU with the key earlier. Then took the car for a thrash. It seems to shift more aggressive and faster, but still that crackle and pop that the car would always do from 3rd to 2nd at about 45km/h hasn't come back.

Ok tried this a few times.
Don't know if it's worked lollll

Put the car in D3 S Mode.
Parked on the side on the freeway, floored it, let go once it hit high revs (above 5k) let go for approx 2 secs then floored it again till it hit high revs (above 5k) let go for 2 secs and did it one more time.

On the 3rd run i did, i go to about 120km/h then slammed the brakes till i got to about 40km/h
Didn't really notice much.

Did it a further couple times. And nothing.
If anyone is local, happy for them to come do it.

Ok. So i tried this and it's not working.

I drive the car in Manual mode all the time (i tried this in D3/S3)

The problem i've found that when i gear down from M-3rd Gear to M-2nd Gear, once the car reaches 2k RPM it lets go of the gear rather then it revving down.

It used to pop and crackle from 3rd to 2nd gear in M mode and would hold the gear in 2nd all the way to 0rpm. Now it doesn't wind down when gearing from 3rd-2nd. Now it only pops and crackles when it's cold and the car hasn't warmed up to full temp.

How can i fix this? It's only started doing it recently.
Can i take it in to Mercedes or to a tuner?
