Mobil 1 no longer available at dealer.

AFAIK Mobil 1 0W40 is still the only MB 229.5 approved oil that is made of PAO & ester base stocks only w/ no group III hydrocracked dino juice, an 11.8 fresh TBN (when even the full-SAPS AMSOILs have a TBN of around 10), relatively high ZDDP content, great HTHS for the viscosity range, and flows easier than anything else with that viscosity range when cold and still stays thick enough when hot. A few months ago I decided to have a look at the specs of all of the MB 229.5 0W40 & 5W40 oils listed on BEVO that are available in NA, and I can't find anything else out there that's even remotely close to the M1 0W40 in all of those areas. All of the Shells, Castrols, Valvolines, Liqui Molys, Pennzoils, Quaker States, MOTULs, Totals and all other Mobil 1 oils look like they have at least some group III base stock as they are nowhere near the 0W40.
Would love to get my hands on some of that 0W40 "AMG High Performance Engine Oil" though and do a VOA to see what's in it. If anyone sees some on their dealer's shelves, please let me know. In the meantime, use M1 0W40.

Assuming my dealership (I have not been in a while since I started traveling weekly for work and have not been driving much) switched, I guess I will switch to wallyworld...

I also did an interval in our 2011 GLK 350 that I took a sample from yesterday because we ended the lease early. I will post a thread with details when I get the UOA back.
