Despite my differences with ACG, I can say unequivocally, that the body shop that does the painting of the calipers is excellent. And I loved when they did mine for my C63.

Holy shi.....!
Are you sure that is yellow?
Could be gold plated according to the price.
$650 for a paint job and $15 ebay stickers is a little high.
On top of that the bleeding nipples and the fitting are painted as well. Looks unprofessional to me.
But maybe I'm just too deep into details.

As much as I like these, I have to really side with sventastic here.
$650 for a paint job basically. You have to return the cores so you can just as easily take yours off, get them painted, and put them back on for waaaay less. The only thing I feel you would pay a premium for is downtime, since you can easily swap them in an hour or so as oppossed to waiting for the paint on your own to be done but thats way to big a premium.
Getting these painted (minus labor of removing the calipers, but we aren't taking that into account since with this deal you'd still have to DIY or pay for the labor) should be around the $100-200 depending on where you go. Charging a $400+ (im assuming you still have to pay shipping both ways which is another $50 at least) premium for downtime convenience is a bit steep. (not to mention at this point its yellow or bust)
i think the price is ok. there is actually a huge amount of work in cleaning the old calipers and getting them prepped for paint. brake fluid is also just about the worst thing for paint so if they are not drained completely when you go to paint it will turn into a huge mess. and the bleeders have covers you'll never see the paint on them.
maybe you could do all the prep work yourself (i have it's pretty awful) would much rather pay the $650.

The nipples are not painted over... they can still be bled.
Keep in mind a rubber cap still needs to be installed:

Yes the nipple I painted over at least a big part of it.
That can be seen on your first post.
Sure you can cover it up with the rubber cap but that is not the point.
It just shows me that this is a half way done job and isn't worth $650 IMO.
Just a guess. The fitting where the brake line connects to is also painted over. Is there paint inside the fitting?
If so than good luck installing the break line without getting paint resedue/flakes into the fluid/system.
Sorry I'm an A..hole when it comes to details like that. I still believe in "you get what you pay for". In this case too much needs to be payed.

A lot of work if you do that yourself in a garage.
If that is being done in a pain shop/body shop the calipers can be blasted with media after taking the fittings off and plugging them with hydraulic plugs.

I'm not sure who wouldn't use the rubber caps that are standard issue on all brake calipers. Guess you and I will just have to agree to disagree to that point.
Per your second "guess", you couldn't be anymore off base. Threaded and o-ringed plugs are used to block off the brake line connection so that no paint or debris can enter the caliper nor can any residing brake fluid leak out.
And I as well am a stickler for you get what you pay for as well, which is why we feel the ballpark asking price we have always offered this service for is more than fair.

Fair enough.
Let's agree to disagree.
Yep I was off base on that one.
Nice job on plugging the brake line connection.
