I don't have an answer to your specific questions, but what is that thing? Is it the BT module that hooks up to the COMAND, or is it a stand alone unit?

Until 2012 the Bluetooth only functions for phone. There's no functionality for music. My 2010 is a frustration because the system will fully function including steering wheel controls and display if you hook up with a media interface cable, or use something like Tune-2-Air. Even then the system functions will not work on anything but the phone's music library. Streaming works but with no control on the car's controls except volume.

Joe

The 6131 is a VPC item only (see this post here - https://mbworld.org/forums/audio-ele...ml#post3629198). It may not work unless your vehicle was prepped for it at the port of entry, so I'd probably refrain from buying it unless you have a chance to test it out first.
