Quaife LSD question.

maybe some sponsers can chime in. im on the east coast(Delaware) so im just trying to get some incite maybe from other members on where I can go to get a quaife LSD installed. maybe ive been too blind and there might be info on the forum as to where to go for install /price. I m pretty sure there going for about $1300? idk correct me. thanks and you can be as harsh as you like. I love critics.

You still haven't bought a c63 yet, right? See if you can find one with an LSD.

An LSD is actually a rather simple install, so any reputable performance shop should be able to take care of you. I believe there is also a new EC shop in the DC area (not the one that everyone was having issues with not long ago either, I could be wrong).

As for the price, should be able to get it a little cheaper than that. PM a vendor here. I'm thinking ACG or Vivid could get their hands on them relatively easily at a fair price.

Again, first thing I'd do is actually get a c63 first before asking everyone for help on how to install an LSD and then tune/headers/supercharger/bs widebody kid/ etc etc etc.

not yet about to purchase. thanks. I was wondering about the prices for them plus installed , id rather not install myself, I mean im not new to the wrenching on cars, but id just feel better having a shop install and if any issues arise I can go back to said shop and not kick myself in the ***. yea I agree with ya, get a c63 first, but I know for sure im getting one soon, as in the next few days... hopefully. one of the things I want to add ASAP is an LSD.

Yeah, have a shop do it. I can wrench, but I've become lazy and don't feel like spending 8 hours on something like that.

Price installed will vary shop to shop. If you've never dealt with any performance shops call around. See if any in your area handle Euro cars and ask what their prices are. Probably close to $100/hr, quote a 4-5 hour job, or something like that.

Steel Grey Metallic C63!!
ACG NY did my install. You should pm Tal at acg and see if he can offer you the QUAIFE lsd special for that location. Some of my other friends have installed at bergen imports in nj. Either one isn't too far of a drive for you.

4-5hrs seems alittle shy. your probably looking at an upwards of 8-10hrs unless they are just slash and hack on everything.

I'm thinking somewhere between 5-8 hours is more appropriate. I was just pooping out numbers

2013 C63 AMG
Just had Quaiffe installed in my ’13 C63 that came with the OEM open diff.Have been around shops/mechanics all my years - when I twist on stuff, it breaks so I leave it to the professionals!?!

I was an ‘active observer’ (helping when I could; probably slowing progress with my questions) and it’s a good 8-10 procedure especially for a single tech! He may have been a bit quicker if I hadn’t been ‘assisting’; two competent techs may do it quicker; but you want it done right!!!You really don’t want adverse issues (things falling off/coming apart) when you are having fun at speed!!

Picked up the Quaife from Tal at ACG (~$1k); got in touch with an AMG Tech in Dallas (roadtallontsi) to help me out with a weekend install.Started disassembly on Saturday evening (3 hours) and finished on Sunday (5-6 hours).A lift and proper tools is essential for the timely installation!!!

The procedure entails removing exhaust; disassembling one side suspension; pull a half-shaft and drive shaft; drop chunk, remove ring gear from old diff & assemble on Quaiffe; then reinstall all components. Most of work is dismantling and reassembly of the ancillary components!
