Haha, well you better let Mercedes-AMG know that before they make a huge mistake & waste their time & effort releasing the new c63.

C63sgt, the c450 has sports suspension and racing seats. It also has red Seat belts.
I'm not saying the c450 is as quick as the c63. But as an overall package, speed, running costs, look, luxury feel, price etc it is a far better option than the hardcore but impractical c63.

Yeah, come sit in my c63 seats and tell me they are the same. LOL Whoa! Red seat belts?!?! That's crazy! It must be a race car...
If you need a practical car get the c450 by all means, if you can't handle the hardcore it's just not for you. Running costs are not going to be significantly less I promise. It's all about what you want. If you can't justify the cost difference for the extra performance and don't want it hardcore then why even bother commenting on it. Cool, the c63 is not for you, don't buy it. But there is no disputing the w205 c63 will beat the c450 in every category. Oh, is the c450 one man on engine? no? then it's not really an AMG, it's an AMG packaged car, exactly like the m-sport 3 series...noticed you totally didn't respond to that part of my reply. Because we are right. It's the same thing. OK, done feeding the troll.

the c450 has a sports suspension but then again a Toyota Camry has a sport suspension. Doesn't mean its the same suspension that the C63 has.
4.9 seconds isn't fast. Thats not even close to C63 territory. Thats like 335i/435i territory. Red Seat belts don't mean ****

GTFO of here with this bs thread. C450 is not in the same class as a W204 or a W205 C63

Wait a minute guys.
It seems I owe the OP and apology.....
I'm sorry, I had no idea the C450 was equipped with red seat belts.
That truly changes everything. I am kind of disappointed that my E55 doesn't have red seat belts. I mean, all these years I thought it was an AMG. I feel foolish for letting MB pull the wool over my eyes!
I was just on the website and checked out the "true AMG" C450 AMG Sport hyper sedan.
I must have one now.
Only question now is do I mis-represent the E55 as an AMG when I am trying to sell it, or maybe I should retro-fit it with red seat belts so I don't con somebody the way MB got me?
Maybe the OP can give me advice - he really seems like a very smart, highly educated and distinguished older gentlemen.

I'll take a C63 any year over the C450amg underling car. Their's no real comparsion between the two cars . Some "Idiot" will pull up to a real AMG and rev his engine and than the Real AMG will rev its engine than it will be over before a race even happens.. It's happens to me all time, Save your money buy the "REAL THING" . Mercedes just trying to sell more cars and using a old American Car company gimmick . "FAKE HOTROD"

Not just red seat belts. It has red stiching on the leather interior too. Plus AMG floor mats etc. it's Mercedes affordable AMG. Finally, all this saying a c63 would trounce it. C450 0-60 in 4.9 secs. C63 does it in 4.5. A few tenths. Anyway, a new c450 would beat a c63 that's a few years old as car's performance deteriorates with age.
I'm not bashing the c63, far from it. I was just asking an innocent question about how the new c450 may or may not impact the c63. It will take some of its sales so maybe MB will need to make it as luxorious as the c450 to keep pace.

I actually like my C63's basic interior design. Very honest and straightforward. Kinda like the classic MB designs of the 80's and early 90's. The new MB's are so over designed that its almost not a MB anymore! I guess I'm officially an old fart.

This is the reason why this forum is going down, too many spammers & too many young kids hanging around nowadays. LOL
Don't be surprised to see OP buying a used w204 C63 & modding it with APC parts & Rota wheels cuz he will realized the w205 C450 AMG is overpriced.

and dont forget buying all the badging and body kit to make it look like a black series

Sorry norb, but if I'm spending that much money on a car I want a luxury interior. Simple and basic is a euphemism for bad. The c63 has a bad interior.
I honestly don't see how MB can justify such a huge price gap given that overall the c450 is a better all round car. As quick? No. Better value and more rounded? Yes.

OMG! it is true ![hammer](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/bonk.gif)
Outside, the C450 AMG remains fairly close to the C400 with the Sport package and its AMG appearance touches. The main difference is the "diamond" grille and the divided exhaust tips left and right. High-gloss black exterior trim is a no-cost option. Inside, there are sport seats, several AMG badges, and optional red seatbelts. Overall, though, the differences between the C400 and the C450 AMG are much smaller than those between the C450 AMG and the AMG C63; this can’t be unintentional, as the C450 and the C400 will be sold alongside one another for only a year before the former supplants the latter. Clearly, Mercedes is keen to protect the identity of the full-fledged AMG vehicles, even as it adds this new, intermediate trim level.

You know the new W205 4.0tt C63 has 500+hp right? AND sport suspension, and race seats and...we could go on forever. A c63 is not in any way inferior to a c450...if you want to cruise and be comfortable fine, a c450 will be great, but it will be significantly slower in a straight line, as well as on the track in comparison to a c63, no matter how nice the interior is. Your entire argument is moot, you have no business here. Also, NOT "one man, one engine"? NOT an AMG
Please tell me how your m-sport 3 series is actually an M3...same thing right? Makes the m3 totally obsolete...why pay more for more car, that obviously makes no sense. HAHA GTFO
The c450's performance is in no way "blistering"...the new ford fukus will do 4.9 to sixty...but then you'd be in a focus...so...you get what you pay for.

The W204 C63 (that's the current one, not the new one) hits 60 in 3.7 seconds.
C/D TEST RESULTS:
Zero to 60 mph: 3.7 sec
Zero to 100 mph: 8.6 sec
Zero to 130 mph: 14.0 sec
Street start, 5-60 mph: 4.3 sec
Top gear, 30-50 mph: 2.5 sec
Top gear, 50-70 mph: 2.7 sec
Standing ¼-mile: 12.1 sec @ 120 mph
Top speed (governor limited): 174 mph
Braking, 70-0 mph: 161 ft
Roadholding, 300-ft-dia skidpad: 0.91 g

That's over a second faster than the C450.
The C450 can't even sniff those numbers.
Not to mention inferior handling and braking.

Without wanting to upset any defensive c63 owners further, is this thread exactly why MB are treading on thin ice releasing the c450? Punters who are lucky enough to be able to afford a genuine AMG car feel it's unfair that MB exploit the brand for mass market? It makes sense for MB to do it, in the short term at least. But I can understand AMG owners feeling a bit cheated.
