Everytime I brake and am close to a stop, the front brakes squeak. They dont squeak the entire time, only once I'm close to fully stopping. What's going on here??
My car has about 27,000km on it so it shouldnt need brake pad replacement.
Should I take my car to MB or should a local tire/brake shop do the trick (for Canadians I'm talking about kaltire, oktire, curtis tire etc)...

I saw a similar thread and it says its from brake dust...any tips on how I can get rid of the squeak or dust or whatever...

upgrade to Porterfield pads. I got them and as soon as I put them on the brakes were silent and the dust decreased dramatically.
Since I read the sound could be caused by brake dust, I sprayed down my front wheels with the garden hose and the sound went away!

Give it 2 days.... the squeak will be back. Unless you plan on spraying your wheels down every time you get home.Originally Posted by Cee6three

Don't worry too much about it. My sister's c63 does the same thing and shes blaming me for ruining her brakes. The pads have a little under 50% life left after my weekend with it
Its normal, but to reduce squeaking and dust, switch to akebono or porterfield. I believe akebono isn't available for the front when I tried to order.

My wife took her C63 PP to the dealer to complain about the squeaky brakes. The dealer's answer was "you have a C63 with big a** brakes, get used to it." I guess MB does not think squeaky brakes is a dealer repair issue ;-)

Drive faster. Brake harder. Downshift louder.
All kidding aside, my dealer replaced my rears under warranty around 25k for the squeaking noise. That lasted about a year. Now they squeak a little. I just brake a little bit later so i have more pressure on the pedal. But sometimes you cant do that...
