I hate our Challenger. Eff that. I even prefer driving my 11 year old 215 hp lexus over our Challenger. I can't imagine that the Charger would be much different. The quality definitely isn't there.

That's funny I saw one out and the driver was obviously petrified (it was raining). I'd like to try all 3 - C63, Z06 and hellcat for an afternoon before I decide to keep mine.

Once you go German, it's hard to go back to anything else. And I love a myriad of cars/brands.

If I bought American at this point it would either be the new ATS-V or CTS-V.
If they make a Jeep with the Hellcat I'd entertain that idea too.

I was cross shopping the C63 with a Charger Hellcat and F80 M3. Never mind that I have extended family at a Dodge dealership, but I was initially interested with the inpressive numbers it puts down. This argument has been going around for the past few months, and not entirely inappropriate given that they are in a similar price bracket and reasonably similar peformance class.
The Charger has been getting reasonably good reviews of its handling considering the expectations, although it is still essentially a highway car. It is hard to utilize all that power because of the relatively small tires (275 all around), although they are able to get 11 sec in the 1/4 on street tires.
What swayed me was one person's opinion that although the power on the Hellcat is fantastic, it will become more of a novelty unless you frequently in situations that you can use it. I might end up itching for something new in a year. Although the car would be 'exotic' in the sense that not many people will witness a Hellcat (as opposed to Porsches, Bentley's, M3/M5/M6, AMG, Ferrari, etc in my area), the C63 is pretty uncommon as well.

Well power is not all. You have to put in down too!
As well it is still a charger. Although the interior has been updated I still don't feel the love for it. That car is too big.
As Purple said I would take a Grand Cherokee hellcat over this.

I guess I'm one of those who would consider both the Challenger and the Charger hellcat. But what's really turning me off is the RWD only...
Considering how I'm only able to put all my 480hp down when the weather is between 20 and 22 degrees and the stars align in the sky, I think I would get too much frustration with 700 and relatively skinny 275 rears.

Ahh please post your experience when you do find one and blow the doors off it. I would love to be riding shotgun in your car when that happens. The facial expression of the guy in the hellcat in your rearview mirror would be priceless!!

Will it be to MB level? Probably not, but a huge difference from a 2013.

They haven't even cracked the OEM tuning yet.

2010 c63 (p31) w/LSD
To answer the original question I would swap for a hellcat charger but not challenger. I have driven both the SRT charger and challenger (not hellcat just SRT) and the challenger has too much butt slide like a drift car, the charger feels much more balanced.
As far as the quality comments I honestly feel the 2015 charger hellcat I sat in at CES feels better than my c63. It feels more luxurious and better made with better quality components. Other than the brand 'Mercedes' I don't see the c63 as being luxurious at all. It is what it is a cheap car under a luxury umbrella, you want real luxury get an S-class. I didn't buy my car because it was a Mercedes though I bought it because it was an AMG, I bought it for the performance and specs not brand name.

one thing i'd mention though is the FL models did get a little more luxury feel to them than the pre FL. I know the inside of the 2014 is nicer than my 2010. the new w205 models seem to really be closer to a luxury sedan level.
Now you REALLY want luxury and performance go for the E63
The american car manufacturers are certainly making the inside of their cars nicer, but how long do they last? I cant speak to dodge but the ford we have hasnt been the greatest in terms of build quality.

Ford Truck, 2014 C63 AMG 507
As much as I love the big HP I can't get past it being a Dodge. I've had Dodges and have never been impressed with the build and interior quality.
Most owners use the total vehicle HP for maybe 10% of the life of ownership but joy of driving a vehicle with a quality interior happens each time your behind the wheel.
Now, If the AWD 2017 or 2018 rear engine ZR1 hits the market I'm all in....
