What makes the C53 AMG better than the M3?

Aside from the obvious... The exhaust note and that monster engine and power...

If you had to list 3 things that you think stand out about your C63 AMG, what would that list look like?

Seats? Exterior styling? Etc...

Would love to hear from you guys as I consider my purchase.

Thank you

1. The steering feel (I drive my brother's M4 and his steering bothers me, he even prefers my steering as well)
2. The brakes look more substantial and in red standout much more.
3. Obviously the Mbworld Community

The C63 IMHO is the better all around vehicle for the street.

Power delivery is extremely linear and gobs of tq down low.
Seats / Interior are better in the C63 IMHO.
I love the styling of both, but the C63 has a much more aggressive front end and the M3 has a much more aggressive rear end.

I had the same issue between the W204 AMG and a E92 M3 here is why I chose the C63

1. Better for a DD, (lets face it DCT on an low shift is quite boggy, and the engine doesn't come alive until high revs).
2. Power (yes Bmw has 414 vs 451 but with the PP it goes up to 481!)
3. Styling ques (personal preference)

It all comes down to what makes you happy at the end of the day...

  1. The styling - the C63 is a very sexy looking car, especially with the carbon trim and red calipers...mmhmm
  2. There are way too may BMW owners around here and the stereotypes that fits them so well.
  3. DEAR LORD THE SOUND
  4. I scanned the forums for over a year before my purchase and saw plenty of BMW owners switching over to C63's. Also hearing the stories of their genuine pure joy they had during the process of picking up their AMG and owning it for a while...just made me want to get one that much more and experience it myself.
  5. How hard it pulls in any gear and.....THE SOUND!!!

1. Stands out; just subtly.
2. Comfort.
3. Less pretentious than a BMW.

Agree with the other SoCal comments. Rarely ever see another C63 in my areas (or anywhere really) and its always a treat when I do.

M3s everywhere you look and i always give them a quick roar from the exhaust to rattle them a bit.

C63 is the chefs knife - strong, tough and can do anything.

M3 is the fine filleting knife - a specialty knife that is not ideal for everyday use.

You guys must be smoking!lol!
For me the 2 obvious reasons you mentioned were enough to make me choose the AMG. So it really depends on what you want from a car. Performance or comfort/luxury or both. I think the C63 is more fun to drive.

Depends on the wants / needs test drive both see what you like only you can make the decision .

For me I like driving a crazy German luxury hot rod , if you're looking to track the car the m3 might be a better choice but to me the m3 is just more common and doesn't sound nearly as amazing

Just curious... What sort of map software does the C63 use?

I was in an Audi S4 the other day, and it was running Google Maps, which is what I prefer.

My Mazda 6 uses a TomTom interface that feels like it's from 2001.

I'm not certain whose maps the W204 is running but I'm fairly certain they aren't Google maps.
Two weeks ago I drove and ordered a new S3. I was very impressed with the cat and its "infotainment" system.

MB should have taken a few ques from Audi when designing the W205. IMO the interior design of the S3 it far superior to that of the W205.

To your M question, there are allot of YouTube video comparisons. Take a look it may help answer some of your questions. Search "M3 vs C63"
The M is a better track day car but if you don't or rarely track your car that is of little value. The thril factor is much better with the C63.

Other people have mentioned it. The C63 is much more exclusive. People see BMWs all day and unless they are familiar with the models they can't tell them apart. But when someone who is not familiar with car models sees a C63 they know right off that it's something special.

I've never seen another in my or my neighboring towns and I've never seen another Edition 507 anywhere in person and I travel three states for work.

I'l be the devil's advocate. One big downside is that the Merc has no manual option. Otherwise, I am quite impressed myself, definitely exceeded expectations.

Merc does not use google maps and does not beat Audi new info system. Even the old MMI is way better than the Merc's. And that is not just for the C63. I would say all models (except new S63 maybe ).
But that should not be your primary criteria when buying an AMG! Otherwise you should consider a different car.
