Front bumper and hood rock chips..
that being said, the other night i did some 150+ runs and i discovered 2 new chips on the hood. i found that very weird considering my previous lexus did several 100+ stints, and only had 3-6 chips when i sold the car.

It's like posts to comfort him with the daily issues of ownership

Only advice I can give you is keep the front of your car well waxed.
Other than that, the only solution is to not drive it.

But on a serious note, I was all OCD and careful with my car too. The more you drive it, things will happen that you can't prevent. It's the beauty of ownership and driving...unless you keep it in the garage and just stare at it things will happen. Do your best to prevent and the rest is up to chance. Just do touch ups and know that there is such thing as a new bumper and repainting....

Yea, Im super OCD about rock chips and minor damage of that sort, it just bothers me alot. I probably shouldve invested in a clear bra but it was already too late by the time I considered it because there were already a few chips here and there. I'll probably just re-spray the bumper a few years down the road when I accumulate more rock chips. Im going to look into Dr. Colorchip some more, there seems to be some discrepancies and mixed reviews on their product and if it actually works in repairing rock chips.
Currently have 2 busted fog lights (with that plastic sticky crap covering them (and the bulb in one still works), missing ring around the drivers side fog light, couple of holes from stones through the lower plastic mesh, dozens of little chips in the bumper, few major chips in the hood..
The paint on our cars sucks ***, chips easily, but rock hard and a ***** and a half to polish
As someone else noted, get some paint (I had the body shop fill up a bottle with leftover from body work I had done when my car was reversed into by another car). Fill up the chip area till it slightly bulges above the paint, then wet sand if you feal comfortable, or polish the crap out of it (I used Menzerna medium then light to restore the shine).
Also, I also just put oil into my car this morning.. and 2 days ago.. ****ing oil leak somewhere (and my car was practically on fire this morning from the oil pooling in the skid plate.. yes it was smoking, but no actual fire.. guess I know what I am doing tonight)
Car is turning 3 years old now and I bought it new. Was washing it the other day, counted a total of about 6 little tiny chips and a door paint scuff.
Before I would get all mad and let it bother me. As they increase and as the car's life ages, you get over it. Worse case scenario is the chips get so bad in a few years on the hood, that I upgrade to a CF one! (i am partial to that solution so here's to more chips!)
Downside to fixing the chips with paint and no clearcloat, while it is shiny after polishing, it is a little darker without clear, noticeable when you go looking for the spots.
NJ Daily Driver = it's just a matter of time to hit a deer and get a new bumber anyway... wasted hours fixing chips only to have Bambi destroy my work
...no one notices the chips but you...
