CEL Car doesnt want to start and no oil temp
Driving back at lunch today i noticed that my oil temp suddenly wasnt reading, found that odd but everything else was totally normal no messages no cel just no oil temp.
So I get back and figure i'll turn the car off then on again and see if it was a fluke....THATS when the problems start.
Took 3 tries to start, it kept trying and then sputtered and died. Another try it starts ok no oil temp and I have CEL and the electric fans going crazy
Shut her down and give it some time to cool off fan still going crazy.
Tried again about 20min later same issues...decided to just drive home slowly...drove fine no issues water temp was steady.
Any clues? Need to just take it into the shop since it needed a 40k service anyway,
EDIT:
Went and picked up a code reader and this sucker is full of them
p0343 p0348 p0393 p0368 p0340 p2542 also found in perm codes P0452
I didnt want to clear any codes so some of these might be old, but the cam sensor symptoms seem to be fairly accurate minus the oil temp not reading and the oil cooler fan going ape-S

so strange, started right up without fail today still no oil temp light and the oil temp fan is going crazy.
Shut it off then back on, failed to start twice but no mis-fires just acted like it couldnt start.
Guess its going to the shop.

That is strange. Hopefully it's just the temp sending unit.
That would make sense to run the fan if the sending unit fails.

I'd stop trying to start it if I were you. Doesn't sound good at all. Get it towed. Good luck.

i drove it slowly to the dealer, only about a 10min drive.
the serv adv said the c's of this era have issues with the cam tensioner...the codes are saying its the cam sensors.
I've got an ext warranty that should cover it, naturally it starts perfectly fine and drives fine going to the dealer.

What's even crazier is the diagnosis...it's a fluke
Alternator clutch stuck caused the belt to pull off, in process shredded the belt and cut through the cam exhaust sensor wires and then at some point the two wires touched causing a short in the ground for the sensors on the circuit.
I thought for sure it would just be some bad sensor or gasket but man that's one hell of a flukey failure
So now I have to wait for easycare to go take a look and approve the repair

Options on AMG are kind of limited, i know easycare does amg as does fidelity. Hopefully I'll come back with positive news.
