A friend of mine had his M4 Impounded friday and his license is currently suspended.
My buddy had an RS5 impounded easter weekend, racing for a ferry. Law here is that you can have your car pulled if you are doing >40kph over the speed limit. 7 days I think. He figured with points, impound etc he is looking at about a $4000 to $4500 hit for that.
40kph over the speed limit (in an area where the limit tops at 100kph) is ridiculously easy to do in this car, and I probably do it multiple times per day.

basically in BC theres L/N/Full, I've had my N forever..anyways i lost it because I received 3 no "N" sign tickets and a street sign ticket, it's a magnet you put on the trunk or rear window..and twice the cop didn't like it because my rear window is tinted and thats where i had it..anyways they took it for 9 months all because of some stupid sticker i didn't have properly displayed, best part is i goto court next month for a similar offence and could lose it for another 3-4 months if i dont win, Just went to court in march due to a failure to obey traffic sign, basically a cop had someone pulled over infront of a no right hand turn sign..i didn't see it because it was 1am, so i made the turn..lost my license for a extra 4 months due to that
you can't even speed in my city, the roads are so broken and the patch work is a joke..every 50 feet you need to slow down otherwise you'll take a chunk of tire/rim off so all they do is get on peoples asses about dumb ****
yet a guy crashes his ferrari here, almost hits 2 kids, received a 24 hour license suspension and a 3 day impound...like i said, Canadas a joke, you can mass murder people in this country and get less time then accidently not using your blinker

What Avery means by the L/N/Full is that there are 3 stages of drivers licenses in BC:
Learners (L)
New (N)
Full
The L & N licenses require that you have a magnet that has the corresponding letter (which the gov provides) affixed to your vehicle. He received 3 tickets for not having the N sticker - 2 of these 3 tickets he had the sticker in place but in a tinted rear window (which is not legal) and he also received 2 tickets (maybe 3?) for traffic violations.
Sorry to explain, Avery, but there was a little bit there that would be easily understood by BCers but greek to anyone not from here. But dude - you have at least 5 or 6 violations here. Thats a lot, and thats not a fluke. You can say they are stupid, you can say they are petty, but they are violations. You are driving a 500 hp car. Not having these laws wouldnt fix the roads here. You gotta pull it together if you want the full license.

Like other have said. If you WANT or NEED the performance the RB option is the best right now.
I live in GA and regularly get up into north Georgia and North Carolina. I went with the inexpensive single piece rotors for about $150 each. I regularly drive "the tail of the dragon", "six gap", Devils Triangle, and many other great roads we have available. I can't feel or measure any difference vs the P31 single piece rotors I removed.
Now if you track day and want the extra performance at higher speeds and aggressive braking I would vote hell yes for the RB set. They are very nice and the vendor really seems to be legit.
No one choice is correct.
Wow. Someone here knows about the dragon. I am thinking of doing a trip up there next week. Haven't driven it about 8 years
I have received the attached quotation which includes $4100 for performance package pads & rotors replacement (front & rear)--not including service for around $200.
I'm wondering if there are any other ideas than paying this much?
The ideas I have:
- Aftermarket parts: what are some options for suppliers
- Second hand: not so keen on this
- Downgrade performance package to standard - I don't really thrash the car / take it on track so would be happy to downgrade... Is that even possible?
Notes:
- This quote was from a trusted indie dealer here in Dubai
- The car has 78,000 miles
Appreciate your guidance,
Alex
If you haven't done this, we just presented a CCM front brake package for your consideration.
The rotor is over sized to 380mm (from OE's 360mm) and weighs around 11 lbs vs. OE's 36 lbs - Less than 1/3 of bulky and heavy 1pc rotor.
Can you share the parts/serial numbers you used? I'm looking to do this once my current set of new pads is done. I'm just barely above the rotor threshold and it's going to cost $4k even at the local independent MB shop. The parts alone are looking to be around $3k (probably OEM).

Parts upgrade? check.
Money saved? check.
Time saved vs going into the shop? check.
All round win if you ask me. Not only that, but it makes my wife hot when she sees me doing 'manly' things. Thats why I put two DC in the fridge. Knew I was gonna want another one later. Tossed around some brake terms like 'bedded' and let the subliminal effect take hold
