I am shaking my head....with all the comments in here. What if thats all they can afford with their money? Shouldnt you all just be thankful that youre driving the real thing?!!! For crying out loud its not like were driving bentleys or maybachs! You guys should be ashamed of yourselves! What if a guy with an aventador pulls up next to you and shakes his head coz youre thinking youre all that coz you drive a C63? Thatll be embarassing.
I don't think you are understanding the point.

Kinda did the same for the guy I saw in the E350 coupe. That coupe is already a very nice looking car, but revved up a little bit and kept going.

I am one of those guys who wears the AMG badge without an AMG engine. It should be flattering to you guys as we strive to reach the AMG heights. I really just like the look of the badge.

We have all seen them, and i simply chuckle a little and move on. Actually saw a C300 with the full C63 quad tip exhaust, C63 & AMG badge, then saw the front. Stock C300 hood, front bumper. Full face palm, but still just a chuckle.
Lord knows I am blessed to own a true AMG, and I know I used to drive a civic EX beater that I tried to "tune" like it was some kind of super car.

obviously between the 2 of us, youre the one with personal issues. first, youre commenting about an AMG badge on a non AMG car when you dont even own a merc?! how sad is that? maybe you just dont really get it coz youre a big idiot. just accept it and move on with that pathetic thing you call life.

Wow. I don't normally comment on this type of thread but.. With so many responses of people being so "annoyed" or "butthurt" about folks with non-AMG cars having badges on them.. Really? Your life has changed for the worse because of this?
To the point where you feel the need to stare down someone who has the "gall" to put a super-exclusive, holy-bejeezus-how-the-hell-could-they AMG badge on their car?? Really?
Wow, maybe your time and efforts would be better served donating a few bucks or some time volunteering at the local homeless shelter.
Not to preach a bunch, but holy smackers, really? Someone with with a "fake" AMG is what gets your social values all up in a twist?
My Daddy, God rest his soul, would have smacked the stupid right out of me if he saw me soiling myself like that.. And rightfully so…

Ultimately its just a badge. If people want to put eyelashes on headlights, its their car, let them do it, a badge, stickers, paint, spoilers its entirely up to the owner.
The fact that people have an issue with it says more about those people than the owner IMHO
I can see the perspectives from all sides, I wouldn't badge mine that way, because its associated with another model. But that's not to say someone else doing it isn't entitled.
Fact is, BMW, Benz and more plaster M badges and AMG badges all over cars these days. It doesn't dilute a proper M or AMG as the market that wants those cars knows its not about a plastic badge. For the rest, who cares.
If you're offended by a badge, then that's your problem and you need to go work it out.

Once again, it's not "just a badge". If you understand the perspectives from all sides, it's quite a fallacy to accuse the people with issues that would require them to seek out their problems and work it out. It obviously means more to it than its physical means, which you don't seem to have understood.
Take a look at this poll for instance and see for yourself. http://www.mbclub.co.uk/forums/gener...amg-mercs.html Presumably, we the majority have an issue and must seek our inner energy to work it out.
Let me compare it to apples to oranges. I am a medical doctor; took 4 years of undergraduate, 4 years of medical school, 3 years of residency, and currently taking a fellowship in cardiology. After all the hard work and countless examinations, I am entitled to be called a doctor, especially within a hospital setting. In reality, there has been a heated debate regarding Nurse Practitioners calling themselves "doctors" in a hospital setting. Indeed, they graduated from a DNP but from a public standpoint, they will confuse the general population and they also did not go through a proper medical school nor do they have anywhere close to the medical science knowledge as a MD.
Because "doctor" is not simply just a title; it means much more to the people who have earned it.

Ins1gnia, this reply is not directed to you. Love your car and your mods.
I own an AMG, and for the last 2 decades, ive owned more than 10 different mercs so i do understand this matter. But comparing a doctorate degree to owning an AMG is the most ridiculous analogy i have ever read. Unless your parents are filthy rich and living in a third world country, you CANT buy your way to being a doctor! Now a lot of people here worked hard for their AMG i know, but do you really have to work THAT HARD to buy one? Common, we all know the prices for these cars and as long as you have a decent job, you can have one. you dont have to study for 10 yrs to own an AMG. Now sadly, owning an AMG comes with a very high horse where some people have a hard time getting off from. You see an AMG badge on a non AMG car, SO WHAT?! Does your REAL AMG lose horse power? Does it lose value? NO! So whats the real problem then? Maybe its within the owner. Too much pride? Ego? Now tell me who doesnt understand what.
Im over this.

So this is the thing?
Personally, I don't take offense when I see AMG badges on non-AMG's or even non-MB's. Heck, I even sold my oem diffuser to a c250 owner. I do sometimes find some of the specimens amusing, though. To me, it's like when people put Ferrari decals on their Ducati's, or even on their tractor mowers.

It's one of those things. I have a Corvette Grand Sport. I'm not going to put Z06 badges on it even though it has the same dimensions, wider fenders and tires, etc. It's not a Z06 nor ZR1. No different than putting "Brabus" badges on my C63. It's a C63 but a Brabus version it is not. Motivation to work harder, etc and eventually get the real thing, and that by far is much more rewarding personally than simply slapping badges on something that it is not.
Some of you will disagree but I think most will agree on this.
