Taking it to the Drag for the first time
Hey everyone, so this Friday I think i'm finally going to drag my car. This will be my first time ever. I was just wondering if I could get some tips and tricks on how to get a better launch etc. I heard sport mode is the best mode to be in, but anyways, let me know anything you know! Hoping to get under a 12.5. Currently running with a resonator delete, and Eurocharged v5 tune. Stock tires. Thanks!

use manuel mode or sport + dont stall up just get to the line wait for the light and step on it change gears using manuel make sure you pull the gear a little earlier to make sure it changes in time
best of luck you can also drop your pressures to 20 if you like pump your front tyres up to 45

What he said, except I've seen no launch difference in street tires @ 20psi vs 25psi, and I like my chances better at the top end of the track with more inflated tires.
Also, avoid the water pit at all cost, and do a quick burnout in front of it to get any stuff off of your tires.

racetracks are built for cars with slicks. street tires will spin worse at the track than on the street. Drag radials are extremely helpful. Drag slicks are best. I got some used DR on this forum for pretty cheap as I recall.

I took my car to the 1/8 mile for the first time a couple of weeks ago. I spun like crazy every time. I'm headed back this Friday as well. I'll deflate the tires to about 25psi and roll on the throttle in S+ mode. Hopefully this will allow me to get out of the hole better. Need an LSD and stickier tires for sure.

E-Town on Friday? You'll be lucky to get one pass in, that place is frustrating as all hell.
Better bet is Atco. Better track too IMO. Usually get 6-8 runs in on a Fri night. I'll probably be there.

Last time I was at ETown was last Sep 10. Got one run in around 6pm, then sat in line until 10pm while they cleaned the track from the various Hondas which had left their guts all over the track. Got tired of waiting and left. That place is a joke, every single time.
