Cutouts on the C63??
I love my current exhaust set up (MBH long tubes, catless mids, mbh x-pipe, stock mufflers) but at times I wish it was just louder at the lower RPMs. It really does open up after 3500 but want it louder cruising at low speeds. This is not my daily driver and I probably drive 2k miles a year at MOST.
Even with other mufflers, I figure it would still be quiet at lower RPMs. Not really wanting to spend 2+ grand on mufflers especially if I'm for the most part happy with what I have and if new mufflers wouldn't give me what I really wanted (low rpm noise).
Muffler deletes would give me that, but then I would probably lose some low end power and it will always be loud.. but this is still a serious option for me.
Then I found electric cutouts. Haven't read many threads about people running cutouts just random posts here an there and people mentioning about wanting to get them. If I got cut outs, I could have that really loud sound when I want it and switch back to the stock mufflers. Not sure about power gains or any of that although Im sure there are some small gains at the top end.
The cutouts would dump at the headers, so I'm guessing/hoping it would sound like I'm running open headers. The kit I'm looking at is the QTP QTEC66 Oval Electric Cutouts, with a toggle switch inside the car. I attached 3 pics, one is the kit, one is my exhaust, and one is what they would look like installed.
Anyone running cutouts? Anyone else also considering it? Opinions? Ideas? Thanks!

I think cutouts are a great idea. I had a remote control setup from Vath and it worked great. I ran them open all the time! Cutouts that close to headers will be pretty loud.
I don't know why more people don't use cutouts they are a cheap option bs a lot of other exhaust mods doing the rounds.
I say go for it, but make sure you go the remote control option.

I really am considering it! Gonna call my indy see what the labor is. I can't imagine it being more than 2-2.5 hours.

You'll lose the AMG sound. It'll just sound like a tractor with open headers really. You'll also lose power if they aren't placed correctly.
Car not loud enough with LTH's? Thats a first.

It depends on how loud you want it to be. The closer to the engine the louder. I have a buddy running cutouts right after headers before any cats. Damn, its loud

That is also why I like cutouts, because if I want it to be quieter I can go through the system and when I want it louder for example if I'm racing/tracking the car I can open it up as well for sound and a few extra hp.

That is where I want it to be because I want it loud!

So with your full MBH setup, its not loud when cruising around under 3k rpms?
I just ordered the same setup with iPE rear muffler. I like it to be loud when cruising as well. Hopefully I am not disappointed!

Its not really "Quiet" either but I just wish it was bit louder. Current set up is way louder than stock and you will NOT be disappointed!! My car sounds the same (apart from the ipe tone) inside with the windows closed, and it appears he's driving with the windows open. I just want it a little bit more louder

This is from inside the car, windows up, backseats down.

Thanks for the video post. I am hoping my iPE mufflers will give me the same tone in the video. Good luck to getting your ideal exhaust setup as well!
