Is the M156 in the C204 just "detuned" vs the W212 M156?
I have been looking at a few W212 2010 E63 M156 (RWD) but since seeing the the Eurocharge graphs it looks like their tunes have a much greater impact on the W204s and are identical to the W212s.
So should I just get a W204, Eurocharge it, get the economy and proper hp potential out of the motor and be done with it?
If so best to aim for a post 2011 W204 to stay away from known issues like headbolts?
If only the W204 had a 70 - 80 L tank... It would be a no brainer.
Thoughts on the sweet spot from this angle?

That said we do have lots of fun tight, twisties and hilly bits.
Not really likely to track her though. Thoughts?

Do we know what MB did to the 12s to reduce cooling efficiency? Am I right in assuming there isn't an easy work around?
From a thermal shock perspective I would hope that these motors would flatline their coolant temps..
Either way it looks like I should be OK with a Euorcharged 2012 in NZ for the most part. Fair assessment?
By the way OP, it is W204, not C204

This is the same kind of experience I have had with the 507. The highest I ever got the temp on the street was 263. The temperature rose from 230 - 263 in about 3 minutes. Mind you, I was beating on her pretty good on some nice mountain roads in upstate NY.
What is interesting: I can go really hard (allegedly
) in clean air (aka no cars in front of me) and the temp stays in the 220-235 range. The minute I get into traffic, for example into one of the tunnels in NYC/NJ after some spirited driving, the range climbs to 253-258 in about 2 minutes in traffic in the tunnel. This is repeatable in any temperature: 23F - 106F Ambient. I'm thinking of getting the cooling package but I need some hotter temperatures in NYC to really do a *ahem* thorough test!

We'll see.To the OP, you will probably be fine with temperatures in NZ. Worse case scenario, get the upgraded cooling package if you start to go into Limp Mode with normal street driving.

The same thing works on a road course, but it kinda defeats the purpose of being at the track if you have to be coasting for cool-downs every other lap.
Bottom line, if you don't intend to track it aggressively, you will not have overheat problems with any model year of the C63.
