I recently had the Weistec valve body/TCU upgraded with the Wesitec oil/air separator system to my Edition 507. Though, I did not stop there and decided to go a step further with the Weistec headers and exhaust system. As I did the ECU tune with ROWs and filters previously with Weistec and was very impressed with it! I cannot, but say, I am Extremely Pleased with the work Weistec has done on my 507. The sound is Remarkable to say the least....it truly brings out the real beast in the M156 engine! Unbelievable, far beyond my expectations....I still can't get the smile off my face just thinking about it as I type this out.

And the cold starts....oh don't get me started, the Earth shakes in my subterranean garage! Such a clean, mean sound...simply put- it is vicious!!

The icing on the cake was no doubt the TCU/valve body upgrade! I'm loving how quickly the paddle shifting reacts with the transmission. AWESOME work Weistec- it is a considerable improvement from driving the car now and really accompanies the ECU tune very well!

Thank you so much Weistec for making my Edition 507 a true 507 (or damm close to it) to the wheels all N/A!

Team Weistec!!! We drive the best or nothing! So, when it comes AMG aftermarket- it's Weistec or nothing!

Pictures and videos of the Weistec headers/exhaust? Not a lot of people run those headers so I'm curious as to how it sounds. Nice Weistec mods!

If you're on the SoCal AMG or SoCal C63 Facebook groups. I have a video already posted in the private group (invite only). I can have any one of the admins add your Facebook profile to anyone of the private groups. Please PM me, I should have the video edit to block my license plate soon for the others on mbworld.org to view and listen to the amazing work Weistec has done to my 507!

Doesn't sound the same as MBH's nice try

I have to admit that I was wrong about the weistec headers being the same as the MBH design. I haven't been on the Weistec site in a while. Weistec appears to be using a mid length 4-1 design, while the MBH setup is a tri-y design. I guess they stopped using MBH headers.

Please post up pics and vids of your headers on your car.

Where have you done your research? The Internet?

Quote: Not really nice try. Just look at your headers and look at what MBH has on their website. They are the same. If you changed any of the rear exhaust sections, that will alter the sound. Do your research junior.

Aaah, I'd LOVE to see/hear the video of this as these are EXACTLY what I'm thinking of doing to my BS. The only thing I'm concerned about is it being TO loud. Does it drone? Is it obnoxiously loud?

Also on the valve body upgrade, did you notice a diff with that right away? Maaan, I wish I was in socal for a lot of reasons, but I'd LOVE to hear your car in person...you don't make it up to MN...do you? haha. Congrats and nice upgrades!

I had the very same concerns prior to doing the upgrades to the headers and exhaust! It is extremely loud on cold starts, but is a clean snap sound that is Godly! When it idles- it slightly louder than the stock headers and exhaust....no where near overbearing, which was one of my biggest fears. I did not want to have it sound like a 60s/70s muscle car when it sat at the light. But, I do enjoy/love the smell of racing fuel in the mornings!!!

Here is a clip:

Yes, on the valve body upgrade/TCU reprogram- almost, if not, a completely different car now imo! Very quick, precise when in manual mode- the guys at got it down right- at least for me and my driving style!!

No, have not been out to Minnesota yet, but I love hockey (Im huge LA Kings fan) and you never know.

Thank you bro- I had to muster up the free time to crop the original video to block my license plate just I can show you; as I know how you are feeling right now...here is the clip:

The reaction from many and the countless heads turning in just the 1st- 2 1/2 days I've had the mods done is priceless!!!!

My biggest complaint about the car is the delay time when up shifting using the manual paddles.
The way it is stock is pretty much useless.

OP - any chance you can have a friend vid the manual shifting from the passenger seat ? The vid combined with the sound will tell many including me if we should go with the TCU upgrade.

Doing this would be hugely helpful.

Thank you !

Ooooh man, sounds SICK! This was NOT the video I needed to hear/see, lol. I've been debating whether or not to keep my BS stock but I feel it's lacking a little bit in responsiveness and power. I'm going to have to hit up Zach at Weistec...he's been an awesome dude to email with. I'm thinking Exhaust, TCU, ROW boxes and tune and call it a day...until the stage 2 sc, lol.

Thanks again! (ooh, Wild baby!!! Hopefully we don't get shutout by Chi again...fml)

Thank you bro- Weistec did an amazing job with my 507- can't get enough of it now and that smile is still stuck on my face.

Zach is a great and worked with him and Alex. The entire crew at Weistec are awesome to talk to and you can see in their eyes. That they have the very same passion for our cars (well they also drive our cars as their daily drivers) as we do.

The Weistec ECU tune with valve body upgrade and TCU will bring out the very best of your Black Series. Without jeopardizing the integrity of the masterpiece we have in the M156 engine.

Stage 2 supercharger is extremely tempting after you all their other upgrades...it has my imagination running wild at the moment!!
