Calling fellow 156 owners, post your videos.
My dealer is trying to tell me that my camshaft adjuster clatter on warm start is "normal"...
Please help me show them what a real normal start up sounds like.
Here is my video. P.S They need to be taken one hour after shut-down.

Sorry to say Missionary that it doesn't sound out of the ordinary, just normal. There have been some other members with a similar sound you are describing...but theirs was much louder.

The first start in the video is one hour after fully warmed up shut down and second start sounds normal as the adjusters are already primed with oil.
I did the two starts in the one video to give a comparison clatter vs no clatter.
Please can we have another look? I am only talking about the first start. If I really am mistaken here can someone please post a clip of their 156 doing the same?

Sounds normal. There have been a few times where my engine makes more noise than others upon startup (more clacky) but it never really bothered me as I have a warranty still for another 2 years. I really do think this is normal though and you shouldn't worry.
