New to MB family!!!! HIIIIIII
Hi all, my name is Adam, I am new to MB family, )))
I know its an over-asked question, and yes a full set of winter tire is a must for c63 driving in winter, Alberta, Canada.....
I just want to know how good/bad can it be once the winter tires have been installed during winter time. For example, driving on highway or sometimes local? Cause I just got my car this summer.
Beside winter tires, what other things should I prepare??
A friend of mine has 18"x8.0 wheel and a full-set 225 18"winter tire (can't remember the full name). He used them on bmw 335i for one winter only. I checked car's manual and they actually matching the numbers in the user manual. I am just assuming the wheel & tire will fit this car? If not, please let me know.
So far I have been driving my c63 for almost a month. I really love it. I have to admit this V8 engine IS a monster! A friend of mine got his new BMW M3 last month as well, it's a good car too but I still prefer this V8 monster!
Any other suggestion from you MB fans would be grateful!!
Have a good evening!!

Welcome to MBWorld. C63 really does make you take to heart the old saying... there's no replacement for displacement! That engine roars.

Welcome to MBworld, Adam! Winter tires should be just fine for normal driving when there isn't snow on the ground. They're a softer compound so just make sure you take them off in the summer months to help save some tread. You will need to check the offset of the wheels from your friends wheels. Enjoy and post some pictures when you can!

Thanks for all the replies..
I went to MB dealer and they test fit the winter tire I have from my friend, but it won't fit. The bolt pattern is not matching. Ordered a new set of winter tire from Kal tire tho.
Tire: YOKOHAMA IG52C 225/40R18
Wheel: Klasse GT3 (or APEX) 18" +35mm offset should work just fine.
Additional information from my c63:
CEL came up on Friday, but engine seems to operate without any noticeable symptoms. I searched around the forum, this might be either the bad purge valve (over fuel the tank frequently) or just "gas cap loose" issue. Since I did tightening my gas cap up side down... so hopefully this can be fixed asap. I already booked an appointment on Monday and they will read the code to see what's the problem.
I will soon post some pictures and give you guys some updates on my CEL issue.
Have a great weekend!!!!!

It looks like you bought it at David Morris. They will take of you, that's where I bought my 507.
I really like the look of the 507 coupe in white congrats.
If they get you fixed up for Friday and its not raining come out to the United cycle get together (south side Tim Hortons). There is lots of nice rides there and we could always use some more Merc's to represent.

Update on CEL:
MB didn't call me today so I went to dealership after work directly, I was told that the car needs to do a software upgrade which they have to connect to MB Germany HQ or something??? And software network was down since last Friday. They says without upgrading the ECU software they cannot be sure exactly where the problem is (??? I got confuse here, thought as long as you have the error code, you should be able to know roughly where the issue is, but well...).
Afterwards one service representative told me the error message indicates "high pressure" in car's emission (fuel tank related). I already told them pay attention to the purge valve since I have read several posts regarding this issue on C63. They said no problem found for purge valve, problem might be due to the out-of-date ECU software not correctly synchronizing with the sensor. I know they are trying to get some "easy fix" solution but we will see. Hopefully is the software problem.
Before I left, I told them do whatever you guys have do, upgrading software, order parts if anything gone bad etc. (It is their job fixing cars, but I just want to push them so I can get my car back quickly...missing drive my car soooooo bad!)
I will keep you guys posted on this.
Have a great night!

still not receiving calls from my dealer, guess issue still not fixed yet.. I highly doubt it's the software problem, they may just want to do a "easy fix" instead of spending their money buying any new parts for me. who knows

Update CEL;
Just came back from my dealer, that AMG service specialist was not there, but I was showed the service records on my c63. (2) F codes were found, one for EVAP and another for steering wheel control column unit. From three copies of the scan records, after upgrading the software, the last two scans showed no more error code (testing drive my car for 5km).
I just want to know, for my own knowledge, is it possible to use their computer (or special tools) to do some sort of "reset" of the error code, cause this is gonna be an extremely easy solution for them. Or, CEL cannot be simply reset unless the actual problem is solved???
I was trying to talk to the guy today, he didn't either pick up my calls or call me back.
